I'm having a hard time being optimistic like so many of the posters here. I see us getting run into the dirt and NJ is missing one of their two "superstars". I can say that if we have to play without Yao or Steve it's a guaranteed "L".

I guess the optimist in me sees that last year this game would be mathmatically over well before halftime. NJ would have been up 20 by now, so I guess that's some improvement.

tough to get yourself going w/ you get the ball once in a blue moon. how many time do we see yao flash in the paint 2 -3 feet from the basket only to see Mo jack up ill advised shots. By the way are you watching the game or you relying on the 2 minute refresh rate yahoo stats?

It looks like the Rockets need a true point guard. More than any team out there. Between Moochie and Francis...ugh.

How am I a 'hater'? Seems like you can criticize anyone on this team except Yao on this board. How many of you are Yao-only fans or chinese? And yeah I'm watching the stupid game.

I do think Yao should be a lot more selfish out there. He has recieved the ball several times close to the basket and passed up what appeared to be a good to pass the ball back out to the perimeter.

The Rockets are just pathetic. They should be ashamed of themselves for trailing by this much at halftime. The Nets are one of the most overrated teams of all time WITH Kenyon Martin. So how is it that they are crushing the Rockets without him?

The second half is going to be a real test for Van Gundy. But I am beginning to feel like Rudy and Carrol sabotaged this team from the beginning, by signing such a horrendous combination of players.

Oh, yeah, and Francis is just smoking everyone on the court, right? Going 0 for 8 is just so impressive. I wonder which one of those missed shots will make Sports Center.

The discussion wasnt about if he thought Francis is awesome or not, it was about how much Yao is sucking, not how much Francis is/was. well now that you brought it up... GOD DAMN make a shot steve.

    Maybe futrue,but not now
Yao will never declare his authority just like oneal
    It is the different culture
If F3 insist on his style
Yao will pass the ball back to him

Yao's biggest problem is that he needs to understand that he has to score to attract double-team to make the other players better.

Chuck Daly said once, the best player on a team is usually the one who wants to and can score a lot. Yao does not understand that. His passing skill is of little use if he can not score much.

Man I just don't understand how we can play so well one night and look like this the next. They are clearly not using thier heads. They are playing really bad, but they are still in the game.

    Send Cuttino to the Clippers.

Well, I take that back. When the Rockets are doing bad in a game, I'm pretty much pissed at everybody on the team contributing to the loss.

Yao STILL needs to be more aggressive. Crap, how long will it take for him to realize that when he's two feet away from the basket to just dunk it instead of laying it in. At this rate, I feel the only way Yao Ming will ever become aggressive and consistently dominent is if the trainers start injecting steriods into his food.
