    It would get him 2000pts, 600rebs and 900asts on the season. First (I think) in NBA history, but more importantly...nice round numbers. :)

    (Russ will have gained 2000/800/800 on the season. Also impressive).

    i say just rest harden...we don't want a tweeked ankle or aggravated wrist going into the playoffs. in fact just rest the whole damn team....

    I wouldn't mind if Harden played the first half and then rested. If he's going for assists and not points, odds are he won't be attacking the hoop and putting that wrist(and the rest of his body for that matter) at risk.

    This was in a Chronicle article the other day before the Clippers game:

    "While praising Westbrook and his place in the record book, Harden moved back on pace to break another NBA record.

    Harden scored or had the assist on 72 points on Sunday, pushing his average of points produced to 59 per game and on pace to break the NBA record Nate Archibald has held since 1972.
    He is 11 assists from becoming the first player in NBA history with 2,000 points, 900 assists and 600 rebounds."

    FIRST player in NBA history to accomplish those numbers?
    Don't think he's going to sit and let that record go by when he's SO close to it.
    He'll be in the game for sure. But his teammates were no real help on Monday. He setup
    quite a few shots and dunks and nothing but bricks and fumbles in the lane .
    Hopefully he can close that deal early and sit down

    fwiw: lately, Rubio loves to take a PnR to an elbow jumper for a long 2, at very similar spot to where WB loves to shoot, and is automatic. Would be nice practice for the defense to stop that jumper without giving up an assist.

    He has been resting. He hasn't made an effort on the defensive end in the last 20 games. Recent example is letting the Clippers forward score at will. You can't just turn it on in the playoffs. Less often than not, he will have a good MVP caliber game. The low IQ turnovers and arguing with his teammates about their defensive assignments is getting old. I'm really hoping I'm wrong and most of you are right, but my eyes are telling me something different.

    Give more time for the bench players especially onuaku, troy, brown and taylor. Time for harden to take rest

    I'm guessing most of those recent 'low IQ' turnovers were from gambling to try and rack up assists.
    I remember several times in the Clippers game he threw long passes down court only to have them stolen
    If those passes were completed they would make for easy layups = assists.
    Assists are the ONLY reason he's in these last games. Chasing that record

    Many of our guys suck after too much rest so they need to play at least 20 minutes but no more.
