With no teams able to challenge the Warriors over the course of the next 6-8 years, other up n comers not having the OOOMPH to **** with those hoes, ala Washington, Minnesota, Norleans, Filadelphia... it was widely expected the Lakers would be the only legitimate heir to the throne once their young talented stars gelled in 3-4 years. But with an unprecedented 4 game winning streak over the best teams in the league, an upcoming top 3 pick in the strongest draft ever -- post 2010, the Lakers could be right. On. The Brink. THE N B A, could.... be back.
minny is gonna be a beast next year with the development of wiggins and kat....once they get rid of pekovich (spelling?), and sign some solid vets to go along with their young big 3, its gonna be scary.
Every year so and so is going to be scary good in a yr or two. (especially NOLA, PHI and MIN) When is the last time a team in the West has become scary good from bottom-dweller based on young draft picks. Answer: OKC, GSW. Takes very rare talent. Can we say Portland with LMA and Roy. Were they scary good? Denver had that weird 57 win year...but no one said prior, "DEN is going to be scary good with Ty and Faried...just watch." The East, Chicago with Rose???
Minny projects to the atl hawk mold , competitive, beat up on the weak teams, but without the x factor to dominate. Wiggins and Lavine are great athletes, but don't have the OOOOOMPH. KAT is good, but his ceiling is no Shaq. They'll have a better chance at success than houston or Dallas -- but that's not saying much. In the end , that's what people love about the Lakers. There's always a shot at gold. They never peak at gold, when theyre not great they're terrible so they can be great, and it's why they've got such a global, passionate fan base. Live and learn, nerds. Live and learn.
Notice how quiet @what has been ever since the Grizzlies started getting force fed their own peepa by the rox
Actually, I have been very complimentary of the rockets this season. Somebody may be able to pull it up, but I said something to the effect that I want to hate the rockets but I just don't. They are such a scrappy team. I said that early on during probably the first few weeks of the season. I thought that this was the best rockets team in a while, since probably tmac, yao, battier era. I've also said that this is the first time in his career that I think James Harden isn't hurting his team with his lack of defense and glorified scoring. So yeah, I like the rockets just fine. But even still it is the rockets, in the harden era, and to date I've only seen them play one complete series (the clippers series) since harden has been a rocket. So while I think y'all have a great shot at getting to the west finals, y'all also could lose to any number of teams: jazz (probably not the grizzlies, unless the grizzlies actually show up, which I have no confidence in this season.)
