Specifically, in 4 straight games started last year on September 6,13,19, and 24th, he pitched 20 inning allowing 5 earned runs had a cumulative ERA for that stretch of 2.25. The wheel fell off on Sept 30, when allowed 7 runs (5 earned) in 4.2 innings.
AJ has pushed the right buttons so far, but if I was doing this lineup I would have Gattis DH, Beltran LF, Aoki center, Springer in right. Marisnick does not need to start two games in a row.
lol. Ok, I went back and looked since you gave it some validation. 3 starts, only 1 of which saw him reach 6 IP. Of the 3, 2 were against the lowly Angels and A's, who were long-since eliminated from the playoffs. And of course the Astros were not looking likely for a playoff berth at that point either. So yeah..I think calling it irrelevant works Loved his work last night, though! And his velocity being up--perhaps because it was just that 1 inning?
My wife bought me this same shirt like 2 years ago. I couldn't pull it off like George so she wears it now (very tight fitting and thin material).
I will admit my dislike of Fiers. Dude is not good. I believe that Peacock has the potential to improve, the stuff is there and Luhnow sees it. Or Peacock would be gone. Fiers doesn't have the stuff to get out of a jam like Peacock did last night. Think how good the pitching staff should be when McHugh and Feliz get back.
