On first listen... Not a fan of the first song. Guitar/music is cool...vocals sounds too "juvenile punk." Second song is a little better, but still lacks the kickass hooks from RoC. The reason RoC is one of my favorite albums is it one of the hardest "catchy" albums I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Maybe this will grow on me, or other songs on the album will be stronger.
No jim ward tho. Still spin my vaya vinyl at least once a week. Would be more hype for the first volta lineup reunion sans ikey RIP. Seeing jon theodore back with omar would be sick
yes. Jon Theodore and Zach de la Rocha make a sick duo. but you probably didn't want me to be the one to reply to that post... lol avoid the other rock music junkie like the plague haha
My thoughts exactly. Their new music sounds more like antemasque more than anything else IMO. even still I cant pass up an opportunity to see omar again. I've seen volta 3 times and omar solo show once. Being a lefty guitarist myself, I have a special place for lefty guitarists haha
Well I really blew this one -- totally forgot and the show is already sold out. I'm considering just biting the bullet and buying a VIP pass. I need to decide quick because those will sell out quick as well.

Personally i love at the drive in but its not even close to my love for mars volta. The mars volta is my favorite band of all time and de loused is one of my favorite albums of all time along with doppelganger, physical graffiti, electric ladyland, and patagonian rats. Id be more hype about a volta reunion with jon theodore back. Its a shame ikey wouldnt be there tho. Just 2 years before ikey died, he and thomas pridgeon were at pearl street co op smoking with us in austin. Ikey was here because he was producing a cool austin local band called boyfryndz and pridgeon was here for his band the memorials. Cedric lives here in atx. I never met him and dont really want to. My friend says he is a kinda douchey scientologist haha. My friend jams with him sometimes though. My friend is on cedrics instagram page with him if you wanna look it up haha
