If I were a two-time MVP and perennial All-Star and All-NBA player who never had much playoff success, I'd be throwing excuses, too.

This year Harden has averaged his fewest MPG of any year as a Rocket. He'll be fine.

But Nash is talking about in general and not under MDA?

Sounds like he's making a general statement, everyone is banged up going into the playoffs.

Yeah, you can interpret Nash's quote in two ways.

The negative interpretation: D'Antoni's system tires you out and you are always tired under him come playoffs time.

The positive interpretation: Of course you are tired in the playoffs. These guys should just dig deep and play.

I wish Harden would have sat out the whole road trip... then he would have really been ready to go. His MVP case took a small hit and he hurt his team in those games being inefficient and risking injury.

I agree. It would've been better for him to miss those games instead of playing in them and looking absolutely horrific. We ended up losing the 3 games that he played in and winning the one that he missed so him playing didn't really help us. He could've had almost a week and a half of rest if he had sat out.

He will get heaps of rest the rest of the regular season, but rest isn't always good

Harden's is at his worst when he has 3 days or more rest this season. Shoots just 42 percent and 31 percent from three. He is the kind of guy who needs to play most games. he shoots his best three point percentage when he has had 0 days rest.

You have to take this wrist injury that he has into account. If his wrist was fine, then I wouldn't have a problem with him playing in every game. However, with the way that he's played after aggravating it in the final minute against OKC, I think it would've been best if he just didn't play at all during the road trip. All he ended up doing was hurting his MVP case.

Sounds like an excuse to me. It's the playoffs. Everybody is tired or has some injury issues on their team. The team that sucks it up the best and battles thru comes away with the title and that's how it should be.

he hasn't hurt that at all, hate when people read too much in to it. Harden's case is the third seed.....and that hasn't been lost

Nash nearly made it to the finals a couple of times, even though he might have been fatigued he definitely didn't show it, otherwise suns would have been eliminated in the 1st round every year.

I played 35 minutes a game for 75+ games and felt refreshed come playoffs... said no NBA player ever. Much ado about nothing if you ask me.

Harden has hurt his case with the portion of the voters who were still undecided or waffling between picking him or Westbrook
