Sorry, here is the link. http://www.thecoli.com/threads/the-meaning-lessness-of-westbrooks-triple-doubles.520571/
Thanks. The OP made a great post. The comments are so stupid tho...as usual, Westbrook supporters don't want to listen to any facts
This is the craziest, damning analysis. Still, I don't want to discount Westbrook's game without seeing a comparison... eg. what does Harden look like. I know Harden is more of a first half assist guy generally. And even with Westbrook being this way, it's still impressive what he's doing. Less impressive...
Yeah, just a coincidence that he: - decided to assert himself once he got his 10th assist, while not feeling the urge to take one shot in the previous 3 minutes - asserted himself enough until he hit 40 points, then went to the bench Naw.....
I used to think that many Rockets fans are sour about Westbrook because he's a competitor against Harden's MVP quest, much like how they soured about Curry's accomplishment two seasons ago. But after Westbrook's "perfect" triple double the other night where he took only 6 shots to preserve his perfect shooting, I concluded that this season's Westbrook had to be one of the most stat-conscious players ever. And I don't like artificial stat-padding that messes up what stats really should do--measure how the players help or hurt their teams in winning ball games. Is Westbrook's performance impressive? Yes. Should he and his team consciously make his stats? NO!
damn we got some sour fans here....i for one respect what RW is doing right now, and it really is special to have witnessed something before the season started is viewed as impossible to accomplish. i don't get all the complaints about stat padding...damn if Harden have a chance to do something so special, we would all be cheering for him to pat his stats. you guys have to remember that before the thunder isn't doing all that bad...a lot of people felt they won't even make it to the playoffs after durant left. RW deserves the praise...like it or not, this performance is gonna go down in history as one of the best EVER...just wished he was on the rockets. some of you guys really should stop the hating, its kind of sad.......Congrats to him.
Pretty sure most of the sports outlets rated OKC higher than Houston. Our players were valued less than Adams, Kanter.
I hope Westbrick gets MVP, because I remember what Dream did to MVP David Robinson, and want to see Harden take his turn at the slaughter.
wow, that's some really deep analysis, some one must have been really obsessed with the MVP award, haha, but anyway, i only want the rocekts to knock out thunder in the first round and go deep in playoff, and that's it
Looking back at the past 32 award winners of MVP, no player has won it below a 3rd seed (Malone, tied for 1st though). Majority of winners are seeded in 1st or 2nd place.
Fwiw: if we are going to say Utah was tied for best record, then you should also note that in Nash's bs 2nd MVP they had the 3rd best record at 54 wins...with two 60 win teams in the West ahead of them. So, again fwiw, best to just say two 3rd best record teams had MVPs. Nash and Jordan
