If he isn't, he should be one!

Patience yes. But I really have lost all hope for Eddie Griffin. I really wish that he can return and start playing impressively like Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett or Rashard Wallace...

Good grief, ima_drummer, now I'm really depressed! ;)
I remember everything you mentioned. I should have been on medication from all the sufferin' I've experienced from Houston's teams. (that we've all experienced)

Thank goodness Hakeem and the 2 championships got rid of a lot of the angst. If it wasn't for that, I bet we'd be poppin' Prozac like candy. :p

Game 6 against the Mets in '86? How did you ever become a Red Sox fan? Just being a Red Sox fan alone will give you clinical depression.

How did you feel when the Rox won it all for 2 years straight though? Didn't that put all the lows in perspective and make it ever the sweeter?

The Astros played the Mets in the NLCS that year and lost Game 6 in 16 innings...with the un-hittable Mike Scott scheduled to pitch Game 7.

Ha ha, I thought for sure you meant the hole-in-one between Buckner's legs in Game 6 of the World Series in 1986. Didn't know the 'Stros lost in such a heartbreaking way that year as well. Mike Scott was pretty unhittable that year. It was his career year and he was better than Nolan Ryan at their peaks.

Hey everyone, I missed the Memphis game...

Can anyone out there fill me in specifically on what Mobley did in basketball terms to cause all this ill will from everyone? Was it what he did during the Memphis game or is it residual?

Looking at the box score, he only took 9 shots, so it couldn't have been that bad, could it? Was he dribbling too much? Not scoring in the flow? Jim Jackson went 2-10 and had 4 TOs. Stevie had 6 TOs to his 4 assists for a very ugly 2/3 assist/TO ratio. From the numbers it looks like they played worse than the Cat did.

I doubt you will get any responses, and ones you do get will be the usuall Cat haters with generalities and no substance. The fact is Cat probably should have taken a more active roll scoring in this game and shot a few more shots because nobody else was gettin it done. If there was a problem with Cat in the Memphis game its that he didn't shoot enough, but you won't hear that from the Cat haters.

Yeah, Houston was Choke City. Houston fans were more cursed than Cubs fans. But that just made Clutch City that much sweeter. Where's the fun in being a sports fan without the ups and downs? I bet those Celtics fans in the Russell era were really bored to death. :p
