Yeah, JVG is a big Owls fan. I'm still holding out hope he coaches them one day. Although I really like Scott Pera.
JVG loves us, and I love him for it... Even if he didn't, I think he'd still be the best color commentator on TV these days. What was interesting, though, is that JVG was the one who brought it up in the first place. Some people might not have noticed had he not mentioned it... at least until he gave up that layup.
When Harden went down and looked injured, Van Gundy and Jackson were joking about how if they were his coach, they'd be giving him 100% attention. Jackson said he'd send a team of four people over to check him and lift him off the court. Van Gundy said he'd run over and "give him mouth to mouth".
JVG is a true rocket, he was coach and did a great job in the Yao-Mac era and even now he gives the Rockets organization props. When everyone had the Rockets fighting for the 8th seed in the playoffs he was saying the MDA hiring would make the Rox an offensive machine. He was on record before saying he doesn't want to coach anymore because it was too stressful, but last summer when the Rox didn't renew Adelman he said he wanted to coach the Rockets, obviously he wanted to coach Harden because he knew Harden is special.
