True but Harden is a 90's type player. He plays no matter what. And he's a tough Mofo. Tmac and Yao would be out 2 weeks if that happen to them
praying for a speedy recovery... let's hope his wrist gets some super powers and he can shoot lights out from here til june
A buddy of mine said this exact same thing the other day, and I agreed. I don't think hand-checks or hard contact in the lane would have bothered him at all. He'll be fine. Would have been nice to keep blowing them out and have him on the bench at that point, but he'll be fine.
If true, Experience brother, experience counts. Keith Jones is used to quickly wrapping his McD's triple cheese burgers when he senses Maury around the corner.
How can dantoni say this ... And then not try to limit his minutes at all ... I mean WTF ?!?! Tonight he had a chance to rest him the entire fourth .. And chose not to . Look I understand Mike wants to be a players coach and James wants to play . But at some point you have to grow a pair of nuts and make him rest . Rationality and the bigger picture has to prevail .
I don't think MDA has a choice in limiting James' minutes. James has gotten what he wants, and if he feels ok to play, then he does so. I have never seen MDA call out Harden on anything this year, and don't expect him to step on James's toes regarding PT.
It's not stepping on his toes . He's averaging what 36 a game ? James wants to play , but I'm sure he doesn't mind letting other players play in a situation where you are up 20 with 6 min left . If the game is close , we are gonna play James 36-7 min . For sure , without fail . But on nights where you have an opportunity to give other guys a chance to close out the game and at the same time help James keep fresh you should do it .
But that margin was closing fast, and I think MDA didn't want to risk anything. Better to have James manage the clock and try to seal it, then have guys make some mistakes and relinquish the lead.
This could have been pretty easily avoided if the Rockets didn't just quit playing defense int he 4th quarter. James shouldn't have needed to come back.
It was not closing fast . He started the 4th with a 25 point lead Then the thunder closed it to 15 Then we built it Back up to 20 ..... All of this BEFORE WE PUT IN JAMES. Right after we put in James the lead was cut to 13 .
Stop providing false info . If by stop playing D , you mean "kanter beat us on the post " then that's one thing ... But I'll sum up my other post . Start of 4th , up 25 ... Then .. They close to 15 ... Then we build back up to 20 .... All of this BEFORE James came back . So in 6 min we lost 5 points from our lead and we were at the foul line . Basketball is a game of runs , but I would not say that at the time James came back that we were in a tailspin .. Hell we were up 20 . We should have given the second unit 2 more min to see if they could hold . If they can then James doesn't need to see the floor . Mike jumped the gun .
