What is the most impressive statistical game you know of. I am wondering if there has ever been a 20 reb, 20 assist game? I think there have been some 15/15 and I think there were 20 board 15 assist games. any help?? ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
Francis had an impressive triple double last year, with 25-14-17. I know that isn't what you were looking for, but that has to be one of the best triple-doubles ever. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
Wow, that is an awesome game. Since it was a loss, I guess he was the entire team that night. ------------------ There are no stupid questions, only stupid people who ask questions.
It isn't a triple double, but Mutombo had a 22 point, 28 rebound game last year. I thought that was pretty impressive. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
The most impressive statistical games ever have to be the quadruple doubles. That is amazing. ------------------ Haha.. you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is: Never get involved in a land war in Asia. Only slightly less well know is this: Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
dream had a quad dub, yes that is impressive. but even the Mutumbo game is nothing compared to what Wilt did for a whole season: 50 pts 20 rbs anyone know what Magics best trip dub looked like, how about the Big O, or even Kidd?? there must have been a few that at least had 20 boards 15 assists ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
I think the fact that Hakeem almost had back-to-back quadruple doubes is the most amazing. ------------------ "So you say you want some intelligent responses? I say give me something intelligent to respond to." -- Dimwits beware, B-Ball freak tells it like it is. Sing it bro!
Let's not forget the season Oscar averaged a triple-double. No matter how his competition was or how different the game was, that is an unbelievable feat that likely will never be broken. If anything, Robertson's competition was better than that of today's players because the talent pool was less diluted. The players might not have been as athletic, but they were definitely more skilled. ------------------
I understand that the talent was more condensed, due to a smaller number of teams, but the talent level was not the same. Today's players are at another level than those of the past. Can you honestly tell me that one of the Celtics teams from their dynasty years could beat say our Rockets? The Rockets would kill them. Also, though the talent may have been more evenly distributed, the difference between a great player and an average player was MUCH greater than it is today. Chamberlain and Robertson were going up against inferior competition and defensive schemes. The stars of yesteryear would not be stars in today's game, with perhaps a few RARE exceptions, and would more likely be scrubs or not even in the league. That's the reality of the situation. ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited April 08, 2001).]
