I remember being at that UH vs UT game at Hofheinz in 1990. Those were two really good college teams in a jam packed Hofheinz ( held the record for attendance there) Amigo was really good in his only college season and I think UH won around 25 games that year.

They should honor "Old Bones" Charles Jones or maybe Tree Rollins.

This is borderline sacrilegious, but hear me out.

This guy played at about a replacement level for us. He was way below replacement after he left us for San Antonio.

But he is universally loved by all Rockets fans from the Clutch City era (including myself).

I think that's pretty incredible for a role player to be so beloved, and I am 100% aboard that sentimental train.

    Congrats Carl!

He played bigger than his talent level so just like the 22 game winning streak with guys like Hayes, Landry and Rafer the chemistry made them bigger than they may have seemed. His level of play was not replacement worthy, he played very decent defense and was underused even. His jump shot was money. It's all about the role he played and it was crucial. No Herrera = no Clutch City!

Why Herrerra and not The Jet?

I mean, Kenny is a more iconic Rocket than Mo Taylor, for example...

Absolutely he is, no doubt about it. Without Kenny, there is no back to back rings. I'm just saying, it might have to do with Kenny's TV obligations or something we are unaware of. Les wouldn't have any grudge against the guy. We know Kenny doesn't hold a grudge against Les. I mean if any of the Clutch City players ticked off Les, it was Mad Max. And he got a 50th anni night. Kenny has always said positive things about the Rockets and Owner.

Yeah don't think there is beef here. Kenny the Jet is always going to be an iconic Rocket for anyone who followed the team in the Clutch City era. He was key for us in 94-95 and hit some of the most important shots in franchise history.
