What are some good eateries in the downtown tunnel? I'm sick of all the crap in the W. Dallas Tunnel. I don't think there are enough restaurants in the Tunnel loop. I know a lot of you guys have to work in downtown. I go to the Whataburger in the Lamar Tunnel. So help a brother out. Where are some good places? Suggestions? Thanks
Treebeards is good, it's right near the Penzoil building. They used to have some badass Muffalettas, but last time I was there they had gotten rid of them. I also used to hit up Schlotzkeys and Ninfa's a lot. I miss working downtown.
I go to the one in the 1100 louisiana building, or the one near shell. i might go there next week. any other suggestions?
Treebeards is good, and the take-out location is pretty quick. Droubi's (910 Travis) is not bad. Panini (700 Milam) makes good sandwiches.
Man, i haven't eatin' in the tunnels for years....Treebeards was good...I know there is a Kim Som somewhere near Reliant...Good luck....
Wish I still worked down there. Here are some places I always went. Treebeards Schlotzky's Beck's Prime Cajun Grill Rajun Cajun Ninfa's Alonti And a couple different BBQ places.
Rotisseri Chicken next to Treebeards in 1100 Louisiana is pretty good. I love the barbecue brisket sandwich from Ottos Barbecue in the food court of 1 Allen Center. The Chinese restaurant outside the One Shell Bldg kicks ass! Can''t really think of anything else to eat in Downtown that's good as well as affordable as an everyday thing.
Man, I am soooooooo sick of Ottos. It's nothing bad, but I eat it all the damn time. Which Chinese Restaurant? The one opposite of Washington Mutual? I guess I should bring my lunch. I'm off tommorow. I wish I was working tommorow so I can figure out something to eat.
I used to eat at Taco Cabana a lot. It's been so long since I worked down there that I don't really remember where it's location. There's a salad place next door to it that's pretty good too, but a bit pricey. Another place that I liked a lot, of course I don't remember the name, was by a couple of escelators, next door to it was a mexican restaurant (not a sit down), across I believe was a smoothie place, next to that I want to say was a flower shop. There's also a Starbucks near there. Now that I think about it...that may have been Otto's! I spent most of my time at either Subway, Taco Cabana, or Ninfa's. There's also a great bbq place that you walk into, get a tray and order. Of course I can't remember what it was by. Right at the front they have a second register, I guess that one is open when they are selling breakfast. Pugs
Who actually drops the word "eateries" out there in REAL life. C'mon KAM. Hopefully you've learned better over the past decade.
Weather has been so nice you should be eating street level because the tunnels will be your escape from the heat soon. When I was at UBS we had **** catered all the time but when we did go down I second raws list
