Rudy T, lock for coach of the year if Rockets make playoffs?

    I say even if they fall a game short he should be the coach of the year.

    Rudy has done an excellent job in assembling this team.

    Beating the teams your supposed to beat is coaching enough to win him the award. The championship wins will come later.

    I certainly think he deserves it, even if we don't make the playoffs, but I would venture to say that Rudy doesn't get COY even if the Rockets make the playoffs... the media just does not give Houston enough credit. And while few critics openly bash Rudy for any reason, he is not given nearly enough run throughout the media to secure the Coach of the Year award.

    But I will still hold out hope for the guy.

    True, I have not even heard anyone up until I tought about this tonight!!!

    But Rudy has done an awsome job with the Rockets and their level of play!!

    For some reason I've noticed that all of a sudden the media is making it seem like the Rockets should have been winning all along! And that for some reason they are a veteran team because Hakeem's age bloats the average Rocket age.

    Why is that, maybe to make themselves look smarter than they are? But who are they kidding, I remember bluntly that the experts were saying the Rockets would be lucky to win 30 games this season and that the West was so tough! Only on this board did anyone say they expected the Rockets to win between 44 and 49 games. Who knows but the members of this board hit it right on the mark.

    I even heard from the Minnesota announcer that Minnesota was not expected to make the playoffs with the offseason troubles that they encountered and are surprising the league with their play!!! Come on!!! That is a bunch of garbage. Minnesota has Garnett, whom many beleive is the best player in the league. They have Terell Brandon, an elite point guard. They have Wally Szerbiack, a pure shooter!!!

    No respect, none!!! And why in the world is ESPN saying that if the Rockets were in the East, their record would be the same!!! People hate to be told they are wrong. And the Rockets are proving a lot of people wrong this season. All of the experts classified late last season's run as nothing more but a fling!!!

    Now this year Rudy and Steve are forcing their way into the playoffs and taking the Rockets along, but no respect is given where it is due.

    Come on, Payton and Kidd have been in the league for a lot longer than Steve, and right now Steve is the only one carrying his team!!! Really whom do you think is more valuable at the point guard position? Who?

    Rudy for coach of the year!!
    Steve for MVP of the league!!

    While I disagree with many of his lineups, I still think Rudy is one of the best coaches in the league. He has frustrated me at times, but he has gotten the Rockets 7 games above .500 in the west. No coach works harder than Rudy T, and no coach deserves coach of the year more. If not for this year, then for years past. I can guarantee that he will be snubbed, though. They'll probably give it to Larry Brown, or (uuuhhh) Sloan, if the Jazz finish first in the west.

    Ok I disagagree with all you jibroni's. Rudy T's a piece of trash coach the only reason he got any recognition was because he had Hakeem on his team. Dream was the rockets for 14 years than Rudy T goes and disrespects hakeem by benching him at the beggining of the season when he is fully capable of still being one of the best centers in the league. This year rockets suck they base everything on Steve and Cuttino who both might I add aren't as good as you people make them out to be. Rudy T should still be going to hakeem yet he rearranged his offense completly around the backcourt. Rudy T is a garbage coach and theres no possible way he will win coach of the year.

    OK now your are one insane piece...
    Francis is no where near the calibar of player or point gaurd that Kidd and Payton are. OR for that matter cassell, or brandon, or Marbary or nash, or Baron davis, or andre miller or van exel, or mark jackson, or rod strickland, and yes I even dare to say john stockton is a better point gaurd then steve francis.
    Now the list goes on. But it'd take a while to list all the names. Yea Steve should get MVP. Most Valuable Piece of $h!t.

    Completely uncalled for.

    Steve has revitalized this team.

    This team is winning.

    It's winning the games its supposed to win.

    It's winning the games its supposed to lose.

    And it's in games that had been scheduled as losses by all those media geniuses.


    If you don't like Steve, well keep it to yourself and cheer for your own guy. Steve however is doing more for his team than any of those guys!!! More!

    OK well I guess I could tell you to keep the fact that you like steve to yourself but the is a forum to voice your opinions so i'm intitled to mine. Steve doing more than Gary Payton? I don't know about that. Gary payton has carried the sonics for 10 years. Without him the sonics wouldn't have made it to the playoffs all those years now he's getting kind of old but he's still better than francis. The only reason payton didn't win a championship along with all those other superstars like ewing and miller is because Jordan dominated the league during their time. Francis is and never will be as good as payton.

    Payton has done a tremendous job with the Sonics. A far better team than last year, and they are 31-33.
