How about this? Coming off the bench, Carlos with another strong outing-- 12 points, 11 rebounds. We most likely don't win this without Carlos. Everytime he comes in the game he does nothing but give 110%... you have to respect him so much for all he does, considering the inconsistent minutes he gets too. I know Cato has the large contract and he is technically our center of the future, but when Dream comes back I really think Carlos should be that backup C to come off the bench. He can be a very very nice piece to this team. As for the whole team-- what I think you saw from the players was what you've seen from most of us... looking ahead to the Suns game. They looked ahead so much that they almost forgot about tonight. But again, even though they didn't play great, when it came down to money time the Rockets were great-- and that's definitely a step in the direction of a playoff team. A side note: With 19 games left and a 35-28 record, the Rockets have already eclipsed last year's win total! Playoffs or no playoffs, I think we all have to be very pleased towards the progress we have made in one short year. For most teams it takes years to go from old to young, rebuild, and contend for the playoffs. It has taken us ONE season. You can really be proud of being a Houston Rockets fan when you think about things like this. ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. At least it was a win, because there wasn't much else to cheer about. What would have happened is Hughes, Blaylock, and Jackson had all been healthy? I hope that they were only looking past this game, because for the most part, they were horrific. I belive ESPN predicted the Rockets to grab 35 wins this year, and with 19 left, they already have it. Unless the Rockets go 0-19, it looks to me like ESPN is wrong again. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." -Anti-President Bush
I'm kind of nervous with having Carlos log huge minutes backing up Dream at the Center spot. He and Cato should share the minutes (with Carlos getting the majority), to avoid getting hurt since he is injury prone. This team's rebuilding turnaround reminds me ALOT of the Lakers rebuilding turnaround that started with, ironically enough, drafting a PG in Nick Van Exel. ------------------ Rocks2001 in disguise. . .
Yupp, I agree. Los always comes into the game with energy and inspiring play. Keep it up and stay healthy. And Rudy - give the man some minutes - he has earned them. ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
We'd beat them like we beat them earlier in the year. We can play the what if game ourself. What if Dream, Cat and Mo were at 100%? What if Cato was at 100% to at least help eat up more minutes at the center spot? What if Mooch was healthier then he is now? ------------------ Rocks2001 in disguise. . .
Like I said, at least its a win. They can't take it back, and its a win. I'll leave it at that. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." -Anti-President Bush
I don't care about Cato. We have won all year without him. As long as Dream gets healthy and Los and the rest of the team don't get injured, we will be in the playoffs. ------------------
Cato's going to be important. He's a shot-blocker and an extra body to throw out there in case of foul trouble, or just to burn minutes. Of course if Cato decides to actually play hard and to his potential, it makes the Rocks job of getting into the postseason thta much easier. ------------------ Rocks2001 in disguise. . .
Got to listen to this game on the radio . Moochie took over this game , a 9 point stretch by himself? This guy is clutch against the Warriors . Carlos had a Double Double in 28 minutes with no Fouls , Adonal Foyle blocked way to many shot attempts though . Steve had a solid stat night filling up all the stats including turnovers . Moochie 5-8 11 points in 19 minutes was the key ------------------ Oh yes I'm helping with the California Power Crisis , I've turned off more women than Achebe
I hope that since we've been "looking ahead" at this Suns game, that we come out inspired and play well instead of the usual lackluster performance. ------------------ PrEsident of The Danforth Langhford FAN CLUB... He IS our future All-Star Small Forward
A win's a win. These are pro athletes out there, anyone can beat anyone. Nice game by Steve, although 24/7/7 seems almost routine for him now. ------------------ "Hey Snoop Dog, I got my bi-yatch to make you some muffins."
I thnk of Los as a better version of Joe Smith. I really beleive that, given the chance/minutes, he can produce MUCH better numbers. If he were a starter, i wouldn't be surprised to see: 16.5ppg 10rpg 1.5bpg ------------------
What is Los's contract status? I was watching the game and it was great - they fouled out two of our frontcourt in the first quarter (meaning that they each got two fouls) - and then Carlos comes in, says thank ye kindly, and took over the paint. It was a huge turnaround for the rockets as we started to get good numbers in the paint from that point on. I loved what Moochie did - but you couldn't really say that he took over the game. If you could have seen it he was like the invisible man - just when you looked away from him he got another two. A player that has respect in the league can take over the game, because the players are reacting to him and he still dominates them. (See Steve's clutch performances at the end of games lately) Anyway, it was a must-win for the rockets - and thanks to our bench, we pulled it out! ------------------ BELIEVE!!!
