Houston Texans - Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina The Texans are still in the mix for Tony Romo, but if they're unable to land him, they'll be in the market for a quarterback after trading Brock Osweiler last week. Trubisky would be good value here.I love his pocket presence and accuracy, but have concerns about some of the critical errors he made, including two bad interceptions versus Stanford. 26. As well as he is playing for a 32 year old CB, no team is giving us a 2nd for JJo. But then again, I was adamant that no one would trade for Brock either.
Zero percent chance a team spends a 2nd round pick to acquire Joseph. Separately, I'm not sad about missing out on any free agent so far this off-season. Texans playing it smart and assuring themselves of 3 comp. picks next year. Sign Romo/Cutler, extend Hop, and have flexibility when it comes to the 2nd wave of FAs and beyond.
When we lose free agents, we get awarded with comp picks. In our case, Bouye, Demps, and Simon will likely yield us a 3rd round pick, 6th round pick, and 6th round pick. If we sign free agents, then we lose those comp picks. Let's say we signed players comparable to the 3 we lost, then it would be a wash and we wouldn't get any additional picks next season.
Watson has a really weak arm in terms of velocity. He'll be another guy who can't drive the ball, so the out routes and stuff that Schaub and Osweiler both struggled with will continue to be a big problem.
If we don't get Romo, I want Cutler. At least someone with some semblance of skill to compete with the Rookie and Savage. We got rid of Brock so they MUST be drafting and getting a FA. Cutler does nothing to hurt what we draft or other FA and resigns.
Things he hasn't shown in the past, but even with timing and accuracy a low velocity just rules out certain passes.
