A very big mistake even if they get Romo.

Trading a 2nd rounder to get rid of Brock tells you everything you need to know.

    Todd McShay 3.0

    1. Cleveland Browns - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
    2. San Francisco 49ers - Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
    3. Chicago Bears - Jamal Adams, S, LSU
    4. Jacksonville Jaguars - O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
    5. Tennessee Titans - Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama
    6. New York Jets - Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
    7. Los Angeles Chargers - Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State
    8. Carolina Panthers - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
    9. Cincinnati Bengals - Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama
    10. Buffalo Bills - Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
    11. New Orleans Saints - Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
    12. Cleveland Browns - Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
    13. Arizona Cardinals - Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU
    14. Philadelphia Eagles, - Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
    15. Indianapolis Colts - Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky
    16. Baltimore Ravens - John Ross, WR, Washington
    17. Washington Redskins - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
    18. Tennessee Titans - Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
    19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - David Njoku, TE, Miami (Fla.)
    20. Denver Broncos - Garett Boles, OT, Utah
    21. Detroit Lions - Charles Harris, DE/OLB, Missouri
    22. Miami Dolphins - Haason Reddick, LB, Temple
    23. New York Giants - Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
    24. Oakland Raiders - Kevin King, CB, Washington
    25. Houston Texans - Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

The Texans are still in the mix for Tony Romo, but if they're unable to land him, they'll be in the market for a quarterback after trading Brock Osweiler last week. Trubisky would be good value here.I love his pocket presence and accuracy, but have concerns about some of the critical errors he made, including two bad interceptions versus Stanford.

    26. Seattle Seahawks - Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State
    27. Kansas City Chiefs - Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee
    28. Dallas Cowboys - Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
    29. Green Bay Packers - Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
    30. Pittsburgh Steelers - Takkarist McKinley, DE/OLB, UCLA
    31. Atlanta Falcons - Cam Robinson, OL, Alabama
    32. New Orleans Saints - Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida

Anyone see Mcclain's latest mock? Has us trading up to 12 with the Browns to take Watson

Hopefully we get Butler for our 2nd rd pick, then we could trade Jonathan Joseph for another 2nd.

As well as he is playing for a 32 year old CB, no team is giving us a 2nd for JJo. But then again, I was adamant that no one would trade for Brock either.

Yeah, I want nothing to do with Trubisky.

Watson is my guy. All the others are about the same. Why not Trubisky?

Zero percent chance a team spends a 2nd round pick to acquire Joseph.

Separately, I'm not sad about missing out on any free agent so far this off-season. Texans playing it smart and assuring themselves of 3 comp. picks next year.

Sign Romo/Cutler, extend Hop, and have flexibility when it comes to the 2nd wave of FAs and beyond.

Can you explain how the 3 comp picks work/how we got them? New news to me.

When we lose free agents, we get awarded with comp picks. In our case, Bouye, Demps, and Simon will likely yield us a 3rd round pick, 6th round pick, and 6th round pick. If we sign free agents, then we lose those comp picks. Let's say we signed players comparable to the 3 we lost, then it would be a wash and we wouldn't get any additional picks next season.

Watson has a really weak arm in terms of velocity. He'll be another guy who can't drive the ball, so the out routes and stuff that Schaub and Osweiler both struggled with will continue to be a big problem.

If we don't get Romo, I want Cutler. At least someone with some semblance of skill to compete with the Rookie and Savage. We got rid of Brock so they MUST be drafting and getting a FA. Cutler does nothing to hurt what we draft or other FA and resigns.

Won't be a problem as long as he has good timing and accuracy.

Things he hasn't shown in the past, but even with timing and accuracy a low velocity just rules out certain passes.
