Lmao this thread is so funny. We have people legitimately comparing Jeremy Lin to MVP candidates in Thomas and Harden. I'm just at a loss for word at this point. Oh wait, I found some.

Here it is, Jeremy Lin is a good NBA player. Scores well in an ISO scheme which isn't easy to do. That being said, Jeremy Lin will NEVER be the best player on a championship team. He'll be a sixth man/seventh man, at best. He might find himself starting, but his style of play doesn't mesh well with other superstars. Look at his relationship with Harden on the court. It simply didn't work. If Lin doesn't have the ball in his hands, he has very little use. That applies to a lot of players, but Lin isn't better than those guys. Of all the ball-dominant guards in the NBA, Jeremy Lin has the smallest of upsides. He's already 28, he's not going to be that much better than he is right now. He's a good guy, and good player, but he is simply not a superstar. Why that is so hard for some people to believe is beyond me.

Beverley shuts down Russell Westbrook in the 4th quarter, busts his ass trying to defend LeBron in the post, has picked the pocket of almost every point guard in the NBA, and shoots 40% from 3.

Jeremy Lin lets that pumpkin-head Mo Williams hit a dagger 3 in his face after an idiotic turnover in a pivotal game in the playoffs.

    End of thread.

    It is messed up.

It's actually backwards with Lin, he's athletic, but not very smart as a basketball player.

Hate to say it, but I agree.

Lin is an above average basketball player. He's no superstar nor is he a scrub. He recieves an inordinate amount of attention because of his race. That's really all there is to it.

I hate to break it to you guys, but Lin hasn't received an "inordinate amount of attention" in years. The only attention he gets is here in this thread.

Pretty true. He gets no national media attention. He just gets a lot of attention in online forums.

Morey didn't even mention anything about BBIQ. You guys always tried your best to find any reason to convinced yourselves that Lin was overpaid by your GM.

    Lin as a Net:
    AST%: 35.1
    AST/TO: 2.04
    TO Ratio: 12.3

    Harden this season:
    AST%: 50.6%
    AST/TO: 1.95
    TO Ratio: 14.2

Lin in the 4th Q, the only time the Nets are not playing Motion Offense at all:
    AST%: 46.7
    AST/TO: 2.33
    TO Ratio: 9.6

    Harden in the 4th Q:
    AST%: 50.9%
    AST/TO: 1.81
    TO Ratio: 12.8

Conclusion by your logic: Harden is not very smart too, even stupider than Lin.

Yup exactly. Lin is a very dumb NBA player. Even his college teammates said he was the biggiest dummy at Harvard. If he was another race, everyone would point out how dumb he is.

LOL another deplorable trying to put this years leading MVP candidate playing with the team with the 3rd best record with a scrub playing with a team with the worst record in the same post

Dumb cuz he didnt call time out like 4 years ago?
I know you're mad at that year's playoff series but the truth is Lin is not the reason we lost.

Yes he made dumb plays but everyone did. Harden didnt show up for the first 4 games. Parsons didn't show that he's the best forward and got schooled by Batum. Asik didnt do **** and didnt want to play. Greg Smith was too fat but we had Jordan the GOAT Hamilton.

It was a close series and if everyone played a little better, we would have won

Post Lin, the Rockets made the western conference finals and are a top 4 seed

Also I'd like a healthy point guard in regular season and playoffs, not one who bruises his chest against OKC

    No
Rockets fan brought up Thomas. No one said anything about Lin being as good (or even close) to Harden.

And yes, agree with you about Lin simply not fitting well with Harden. That has been my position all along. And I also agree that Lin being 28 means he's about as good as he's going to be. But where he is now is MUCH better than the "Lin sucks" claims being made. He's a legit starting PG in the NBA, and if you put him in the right system, he could lead a playoff-calibre team.

Lin's last game as a Rocket, he left the court with a lead and less than a second left in Game 6.
