19 pts, 10 rebs, 3 blks… yeah… whatever. the guy could have easily gone for 30+ pts, 15+ rebs, and 3 blks.

forget the lame excuse that he doesn’t get the ball enough because it’s not like his teammates aren’t trying or anything. sure they could’ve thrown lob passes since the SIX FOOT NINE stromile was fronted his ass for most of the night. if yao would quit being a sissy and draw the line, close off his defender, bow the f’er in the jaw or SOMETHING then maybe he would be more effective in the post.

blame him for going to china every summer to practice against inferior players where he can, without, effort post up 4’3” defenders or becoming accustomed to getting rebounds because he’s used to being able to reach over players that can’t jump. if he’s spending half of his time playing against weaklings, the dude’s gonna act like he’s playing against weaklings in the nba. yao, your gonna have to go after the ball in this league, bud.

hmmmm… first tomjanovich… now van gundy. yeah… that’s it. maybe both of them don’t want yao to shoot the ball… right? wrong. two coaches can’t be wrong (well… they can, but i don’t think they are). it’s yao’s fault… not theirs. i like the way vg benched his arse in the middle of the fourth quarter. if he’s going to play “pansy-like” he leaves them no choice. the guy is already above average when he can be the baddest mofo on the block.

yao, be PHYSICAL when posting up and closing off your defender. if you get called with a foul… so be it. eventually the refs will give you the benefit of the doubt and will let you be that way on a regular basis (a la shaq). WORK FOR THE BALL. DON’T MAKE YOUR TEAMMATES HAVE TO WORK TO GET YOU THE BALL. if you can’t at the very least put forth the effort to establish your position, then at least learn how to SOMEWHAT DRIBBLE THE BALL. that way you can work your way into the post or possibly face up your opponent (hakeem, barkley, mourning…)

    yao, IT’S YOUR FAULT!

by the way, why does vg keep taylor and yao in the game at the same time? they both like the deep left post position. it clogs up the left side of the court and runs down the clock. it seems taylor wants the ball every time he gets in position there.

oh yeah... mobes is gonna get traded by the allstar break unless he breaks out of rudy's system.

its not his fault for going to china and being gaurded by point gaurds.

i cant blame this game on anyone, we played decent, but memphis played awesome, sorry, but you have to give them props.

It's easier said than done. I am sure you Rox can win the title if you are the coach.

Yao wasn't as aggressive as he could have been in this game, BUT, the Rox didn't try that hard to get him the ball tonight either. For the most part the Rox of old reared their ugly heads tonight.

As far as Mobley, HE DOES NOT FIT THIS TEAM, TRADE HIM NOW. He's still too wild at times and he should never, ever have more shots the Yao on this current Rox team, NEVER. Either bench him, or trade him, he's going to stunt the growth of this team.

finally someone here has the balls to say that its Yao's fault, instead of the popular 'Yao can do no wrong'****.
Yao needs to step up his game...19 points just aint gonna do it for us this year with the team we have. Yao needs to be scoring 25 points a game, grabbing 13 boards and gettin 4 blocks. That way, our ROLE PLAYERS can ROLE PLAY, instead of trying to create their own shot and bricking.

quit blaming people; try going out there and playing with these players.
he goes to china because he's loyal to them.
    get a grip
would you want ppl to critique your every move like that?
    players have their off days

also Yao backs off of many smaller centers at times. he needs to back it in there, show off the lower body strength. he shoots it sometimes too awkwardly just to get the ball released.

Now to be fair, Yao did good for the minutes he played.

But all of you Yao-only defending him know that if Steve or someone had missed that freethrow at the end of the game you'd be saying "what kind of Franchise player can't come through in the clutch??"

But this can't be the way things go after every loss. I don't wanna see "blame Yao" "blame Francis" "Trade Cuttino" etc... everytime we lose a game. It just gets really old after a while.

The 10 rebounds is kind of misleading. Yao doesn't really aggressively go for the rebound. Most of his rebounds are just balls just happening to bounce in his direction. Also, stop tipping the damn ball. This isn't volleyball.

    BLAME CATO FOR THE LOSS!!!!!!!!:D

    BLAME RUDY FOR THE LOSS!!!!!!!!

    BLAME CD FOR THE LOSS!!!!!!!!!

    FOR REAL...BLAME MOOCHIE:rolleyes:

Actually some of his points are valid...he does need to working on sealing, but then again, the team needs to work on spacing if this is to happen, because the whole night Memphis was able to collapse to easily....also, we need to knock down open jumpers...look we went 3/13 or 3/14 from the ARC...that is not going to cut it....if we take that many we need to hit 5 or 6 and that wins the game.....also, turnovers killed us....

I thought the first post on this thread was sarcastic, but if you guys really are thinking Yao Ming is to blame for this loss, you're dumber than I could've imagined.

hmmm... i wish someone that recorded the game could count the amount of turnovers that were caused by trying to get YAO the ball. ;) a couple of them i remember were bad bounce passes... one by cat and another by someone else.

Well, what do you expect from someone that has zero stamina? Will Yao ever get his conditioning to a point where he's not grabbing his knees sucking for air after four damn trips up and down the court? I mean, it's been 1 season+ already. How long is it gonna take?

dude, did you see the TOs on the press and offensive turnovers.....we missed 13 3 point attempts! bounce passes to a big man are ridiculous....that is the problem too....they need to work on spacing and getting the ball over the line with more than 14 seconds....you crack me up

how about someone hitting a jumper so the defense will respect us for an overall game and loosen up the inside...come one...we did win championships pounding the ball to Hakeem and him scoring only....we needed the 3 point and over the top game to compliment Hakeem...we never would have won them if we had this shooting exhibition....you guys need to wake up and know that outside shooting compliments the inside game.....they were letting us shoot the outside shot because they know we have no outside game.....the played us and called us out...

Hakeem was effective because the threat was there from the outside...teams could not collapse that eays and when they did we made them pay...tonight....the hammered ming and we did not make them pay!!!
