Just saying causal fans won't. 22 game win streak is Rockets history right? Harden will be forever immortalized in rockets fandom who got robbed of mvps, but to casual fans now and in future he's just a dirty bum with nasty beard who flops/can't defend (not my viewpoint)
I agree, an MVP does a lot for one's legacy and perception. Being the MVP of the league carries a lot of weight. Can u imagine the confidence boost that Harden will get if he wins it? Also, that would take a huge monkey off his back...nobody wants to be so close to winning a prestigious award twice. If he wins an MVP, then there'd be nothing left for him to worry about from an individual standpoint, he'd have done it all. Now all that would be left is for him to win a championship.
Early in the game (just after tipoff, I believe) the broadcast crew said: "Is the MVP the best overall player ---- Lebron James, or the player having the best season ---- James Harden." lol.
I honestly thing there is a bit of a bias with Hardens MVP by the powers that be.. they know MDA is lapping the coach of the year award and it aint even close.. they know the two man competing for sixth man are both in Rox jersey and again its just a two man race.. the only other award is defensive player of the year.. the rox are guaranteed to have an All NBA first team with Harden and a pretty chance of getting all defensive second with Beverly... Thats way too many awards and although Harden deserves it, he is not running away with it.. Rox just are not that well liked and Houston doesnt get that respect as a city to get what we know we deserve. I think Harden will be robbed again, but i will be honest what Russell is doing is special, and Kwahi is having a dominant year, so I wont be too hurt with either of those two getting it. Just dont want it to be Lebron or KD.
