I was just coming home from school listening to 610. Some idiot calls up wanting to talk about the Jazz!!!!! (ugh ) Dumb asses Charlie and Rich say they have no problem with the Jazz winning the championship, if the Rockets dont win it. No true Rocket fans would ever want to see Jazz (ugh!!!!!!! ) win the championship!!! UGH!!!!! ------------------
Exactly! Seriously though, they did say some things that made me go HUH!? They called the Jazz a classy bunch of guys.... HUH!?! I was thinking, was that before or after Karl Malone knocked the Admiral unconscious on his feet with an elbow. ------------------ There's not enough laughter in this world! The morning show is much better, and funnier ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
wish i can listen to 610, i sure miss them... i hate the radio stations up here in dallas and cant wait to listen to Houston radio for spring break. ------------------ I believe
Everyone is better then Rich and Charlie. Rich didnt even know that Shandon had started every single game this year. Also they were going on and on about how classy those two BASTARDS in Utah are ! ------------------
Those guys are not actual "Houstonians." Actually, I'm not either, but I LOVE the Houston teams. The thing is, they are Radio guys who are hired for their Radio talents and they hold no loyalties to the teams. At least that's what it seems to me. They are a lot like ESPN in that they look at records only. Anyone who listens to them knows that they have no interest in watching Rockets games mainly because they dont' think they are a playoff team. I remember listening last year when someone on the show tried to compliment Rudy on doing a very good coaching job (considering all of the sudden changes that had to be made). One of them said something to the effect of "if he's so good then why is the team 10 games under .500?" Watch the games and maybe you would understand, idiot! ------------------ Kenny Thomas had a foul called on him in the Western Conference Finals.
I actually kind of dig those two. They only say nice things about the Jazz to infuriate people and force them to call in. They still struggle to find Rocket calls or any basketball calls at all, and this is just another stab at drawing callers. Besides, if either of them truly believed that those two were class acts, we all know that they would have burst into flames on the air. ------------------ Que la fuerza te acompane young Francis...
Rich and Charlie might not be from Houston, but they have been talking sports there forever. I remember listening to them on 740 back when I was in High School a decade ago (before there was an all-sports station in town). ------------------ In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.
I like Charlie and Rich. I also like the night show with Matt and Jeremy. I cant stand John and Lance!!!! Lance is alright, but John tries way too hard to be funny and he never is. It's a shame too b/c I used to think he was alright when he did that show on knws, but then I heard him on the radio and I find him very annoying. On another note I couldn't stand Charlie when he would do those talk shows on tv, but I like him on the radio. I think he and Rich work really well together. ------------------ Cause I'm a twenty first century digital boy. I don't know how to read, but I got a lot of toys. I like Charlie, and Rich is o.k., but my real beef here is that so many people on this site really think so little of the Jazz. They play hard and they hustle all over the court. And there's no denying that Stockton is a class act off the court. Karl Malone, while not necessarily classy, is at least always honest and straighforward and cares about traditional family values. I grew up in Houston and love the Rockets (like the Astros and Oilers . . errr . . . Titans). But I've always rooted for the Jazz when they weren't playing the Rockets. They play hard, and sometimes that comes across as playing rough or dirty. I know from playing with friends that when I'm the most active and tenacious defensively, I get more complaints about fouls and elbows and knees. And while it is stylish to call the Jazz a "dirty team", I really think they play the game the right way. Besides, why is everyone so petulantly whiny about the Jazz? If anything, their fans should be the ones holding grudges against the Rockets. After all, they were our b**ches for two years straight when they probably would have won championships if they hadn't lost to us. ------------------
Oh my, Demosthenes ...respectometer dropping... dropping...dropping... This is the wrong BBS to admit to being even a partial Jazz fan... for shame. Your only hope is that everyone else is as easy on you as I have been. ------------------ "all your base are belong to us!" "you have no chance to survive make your time!"
I like your sig, Band Geek Monster. Bad Religion rules. Because the President believes in God Like all good soldiers should Slumber will come soooooon And you will help me put it to sleep ------------------ "all your base are belong to us!" "you have no chance to survive make your time!"
You got good taste in music RaginRaven. ------------------ Cause I'm a twenty first century digital boy. I don't know how to read, but I got a lot of toys. My daddy's a lazy middle class intellectual. My mommy's on valium, so ineffectual. Oh Oh, ain't life a mystery?
Yeah, Raven, I know you're right. I don't expect to be well-liked for liking the Jazz, but I just had to give my opinion . . I just couldn't help myself. I see a lot of Jazz-bashing on the BBS, and it always irks me. It's like when you have poison ivy and you're not supposed to scratch, but eventually you just have to cave in. Anyway, I want to remind everyone that I'm first and foremost a Rockets fan! I love Hakeem, and I enjoy watching the young guys grow and play together. ------------------
You just cannot be a Rockets and a Jazz (UGH ) fan at the same time. Its just not RIGHT! ------------------
