Who will you be rooting for? Personally, as much as I would like to edge closer to San Antonio, I would rather see Golden State drop another game. If we can't pull off a miracle and win our conference, then I would rather face Golden State earlier than San Antonio. Not only that, but I can't stand the Warriors. With Leonard out tomorrow part of me wants them to lose a game, just to get us a little closer, but I would rather see Golden State drop again. You?
I think San Antonio would be a better matchup for the Rockets. Rockets easily should have beaten them 3-1 this year. Yeah, I know... they didn't. But they are very close with San Antonio. Golden State, when healthy, has crazy potential.
ideal route to the finals would be to play OKC IMO, then GSW with KD out or possibly just getting back and then SAS with no LMA. We'll have an asterisks like GSW with their championship but who cares
At the same time. San Antonio has the better coach . Sure we are more likely to get out "talented" by GS than by SA . But we are 100 percent sure to get out coached by SA . To me the last game against SA was so infuriatingly winnable and dantoni made mistakes like leaving Trevor to get eaten alive by Kawhi whereas SA throws multiple defenders on James . Also we were killing them with the PnR and went away from it for some reason. I think we can beat SA , but if we're going to just jack up 3's I'd almost rather take our chances of getting hot vs GS. Dantoni does what dantoni does and his stubbornness to it works better against GS than it does against the genius of Pop
Talking about tonight's game, idc tbh. I'm hoping draymond nut kicks Kawhi and puts him out for a month and draymond gets suspended for like 15-20games. In the playoffs the answer is both. We aren't lucky enough as a franchise to get lucky enough to hope one of the 2 teams lose round 1. I want to have both because that means we beat the 1st. The preference of the 2 is clearly San Antonio tho. We match up well even tho we blew leads against them all year. Gsw healthy is at best a 20-1 odds deficit/betting odds. I would take the bet, b3cause I'm a homer and that's good payoff on a gamble because I think the odds are more likely 4-1. I give us 20% to catch fire and beat golden State. I give us 60% to beat San Antonio
I hear that once you accept that James Harden was never going to be the MVP, life suddenly becomes much easier. true story.
Well Kawhi won't be playing tonight because of concussion protocol. Draymond will have to get suspended by just being a nasty jerk to the refs or something.
Life got easier for me just seeing Brock leave. It made me forget all about the Rockets' losses for awhile.
I just found out about LMA. Don't wish bad news on anyone. Well, it looks like Golden State might have an easier win with both of them out. Doesn't that just figure? I can't stand those Warriors.
I agree that the Spurs are the better matchup. The only reason the Rockets didn't go 3-1 is that the Spurs don't beat themselves whereas the Rockets do. But the whole health issue muddles this debate. If Durant isn't able to go in the playoffs or isn't close to 100%, suddenly the Warriors look way more vulnerable. And if Aldridge's heart troubles are more than just minor, then that completely changes the dynamic of a Rockets-Spurs series. All I know is the Rockets better do well down the stretch and secure the 3rd best record in the league, cuz home court in the Finals over the Cavs is suddenly looking like it's worth playing for.
I would like to get the Warriors in the 2nd round versus WCF assuming that Durant could be back by then.
