I go to the site in the link and click on the Install Macromedia Flash Player and the page changes and says download will take a minute for 56k modem and you will see a flash show after instillation but nothing ever happens. I have a cable modem win 98se. I un-installed ask jeeves and the google toolbar disabled my pop-up blocker and changed my firewall to Allow-all. have rebooted numerous times but nothing helps when I go to install Macromedia Flash Player nothing ever happens!
yea, ive had that problem too, it would just hang while it was installing. However, try going to the site that you need the flash player for and trying it anyway. It worked for me even though the site didnt say it finished installing.
No Chance - are you trying this for ClutchFans? If so, did you go to the "test page" after installing and see if Flash is working for you? If Flash is working for you, there is a link there that will set a cookie on your machine that will override the Flash detection, letting you in to the site. You would want to do that though only if the Flash is working properly (and it explains it on the test page).
Thank you Clutch that worked for me, Thank goodness I was really worried. Just thinking about not being able to get this site had me thinking of rash actions that I really cannot afford(new computer)
I can't install it due to being on a computer at work. The firewall won't allow it, I guess. If I ever get internet access at home again, I suppose I'll be able to see the new site then.
Where there is a will there is a way. Im sure there are ways to getting around these so called firewalls. pay the computer technician a few $$ to install whatever you need on those computers. hey thats what we do at school. ,
I never understood firewalls for Flash. It doesn't represent a significant security risk and it doesn't represent any serious upgrade to the computer. I guess if you spent all day on Flash animation sites, it COULD create some bandwidth issues, but it would take everyone doing it at the same time to be any more significant than processing forms or sending emails. Wierd.
