I think RS's worst round is the third round followed by the fourth if I'm not mistaken. Or maybe it is all of them outside the first
Look, this is a hefty price to pay. A 2nd round pick is extremely valuable. The only way this ends up being a "good" deal is if the Texans do something with cap space and win.
Nick Martin Benardrick McKinney Ben Tate Brooks Reed Connor Barwin Yes there are some busts but it's not like he hasn't made any good picks. The 18 million dollar gamble is better than a 30+ million dollar gamble. So what would you like to do? Hold on to the mistake one more year? You remember when the Patriots took a gamble on Albert Haynesworth? Are they a TV-Y7 franchise too? On one hand you all complain that they don't spend enough in free agency. So they make cap room so they can spend more. Then you come back and say they are giving away draft picks. They can easily trade out of the 1st round and get two second round picks (or a second and a third).
That is very true. This could end up being a bad trade even though people are happy about getting rid of Osweiler a year early. It could end up being the Texans giving up a 2nd round pick for a 4th round pick and nothing else.
True. I doubt they make this deal without some sort of agreement in place. My fear is that they give up more picks to get Romo or Cousins. To me that is the only way I wouldn't be happy with this deal. They can trade down from their 1st round pick and get an extra pick and still get good offensive linemen.
Trading picks for Romo will turn this from a deal I accept and see positive side to into a deal that I loathe.
True, but this opens the window at least to go for it, Osweiler's contract and play was a nightmare. And with him the Texans were done before the season started... sure they'd make the playoffs but it was like they were wasting Hopkins just like they wasted Johnson.
I was confident that I'd be safe and they wouldn't trade any picks for Romo, but Pancakes just said they definitely won't trade for Romo so now I'm nervous.
