I agree with that - but I think it's understandable that fans freak out a bit when you lose a major player, but don't immediately replace them with someone of value. That's just the nature of fans. An objective look will be more about how the team looks in the fall than it looks today. If the Texans sign Romo with their freed up space, most people will likely be happy. If the Texans end up with unused cap space or overpaying lesser talent down the line, people will be unhappy. It's like the Astros - everyone got excited about their early signings, but as it turns out, they may have overpaid. No one really knows until later on.
I would never begrudge a player taking as much money as possible - but... Jacksonville? He's been to their stadium each of the past four seasons.......... He knows what a graveyard that city is. Plus, I'm not sure he upgraded his QB situation. I just.... Jacksonville. Reminds me of Mario heading to Buffalo....
They act like no team has ever lost a major player before... They act like their FAVORITE team has never lost a major player before. It happens, roughly, every single freaking year and somehow, franchises don't crumble into a pile of useless rubble. It's like they lose all perspective, as if none of them lived through the Dwight Howard era; or the Carlos Gomez era; hell, they're living IN the Brock Osweiler era and yet, here they are, every bit as irrational as ever.......
Johnson average at best? He was our best cb when healthy last year. He is uber talented. The foot injuries are worrisome though.
Kevin Johnson was our best cb when healthy last year. Health is the only question with him. He has major upside.
It's quite possible that he does, but given the cap situation and our depth already at corner it wouldn't be smart to invest that kind of money. He was fourth on the depth chart to start the year and had a nice run to end the season. I'm perfectly fine not overpaying and investing in the offense instead.
That's what fans do - not just Texans fans or Houston fans or whomever else. It's the nature of sports, especially with franchises or cities that haven't haven't won anything in a long time.
Eh, I don't really agree with this. Joseph's best year was the first but he has been quality most of his time with the Texans.
Now that Osweiler is off the books we should be able to match whatever Philly is offering. Apparently we're not trading for Romo and we're signing outright him after the release.
