from the bright side, good to have losses like these two, keep them minds in check, sometimes the team just seem kinda cocky when they are ahead in games. it's good practice for the playoff coming up.
I felt like the Rockets did fine against him. He was a -1 on the night. We got plenty inside, especially late. He certainly didn't bother Harden, as that's the only way he scored tonight. The Rockets just had yet another game where they shot horribly from 3. It's strange how that is consistently the biggest determinant of whether we win or lose, but it just is. If we hit even a decently respectable percentage, we probably win. Granted...the defense in the 1st half was awful. Can't come out that flat in front of your home crowd. Happens far too often.
No doubt these last two games have been dissapionting and we are not playing our best . While it sucks for the fans , I'd rather be playing well in May than in March . We knew this going in , we have to peak at the right time .
Man we spent like 100 million dollars on 2 three point shooters who show up like once every 3 games. Gordon had a hot start to the season then followed it up with some 1-11 turds and our results showed. Anderson on a good day goes 3-6 and on a bad day.....well we're starting threads on how much he gets paid.
Our results are 3rd seed in the west. What moves should we have made differently? Since you have the benefit of hindsight, maybe you can teach us now.
No what I mean is will they show up and play with some gumption or not. I don't think it's just hot they win cold they lose. Rockets don't play smart at times and don't give enough effort. That can help even when you're cold.
You have just described every single team in the NBA in history. In fact, you have just described how people function in general. Congrats, we now know the Rockets team are in fact humans. I don't know how this team will play in the playoffs, but I'm pretty sure they are winning a lot more games than most if not all fans posting in this thread predicted they'd win. Seems to me they're showing up and giving a lot more effort than people expected.
The rockets are a flashy toy, they chuck up a bunch of 3s and their offense is amazing when they are on, but they are a tower propped up by popsicle sticks. They get exposed.
This team was projected to win 40-42 games by BSpn lol. Then harden went crazy and the rest of the team has been inspiring more often than not. This is a special season. Im having a great time after last years debacle. Remember Morey has said all along that the goal this year was just to restablish the rockets brand and get a top 4 seed. We still have the 3rd best record out of 30 NBA teams. Who saw that coming? A poster (i forget his name) said earlier that this is just the first year in an experiment that morey is building. I agree with him. Morey is very aware that defense and rebounding are problems. Lets see what he does to address it this offseason. He makes it sound like the main goal of this year was to become a team that free agents want to play for again. Im still thrilled to have a top 5 player wearing a rockets uniform.
It is getting a lot better, we are now taking care of bad and mediocre teams. Some of the playoff teams give the Rox problems. Bigger teams with shotblocking mostly and elite teams. We were inconsistent the whole time with McHale and JBB.
Basketball is a game of matchups. Jazz clearly have our number. Nothing else to see here. Barring any upsets in the 1st round of the playoffs, Utah is one team we won't have to worry about playing in the postseason. If we do play them, it implies we're in the 2nd round.
What a dumb take. Don't be so dense. The Rockets do not have the talent level of some of the top teams and this team as constructed has not proven that they are capable of dialing in when it comes to win or go home time whereas with the warriors, cavs and spurs people typically don't doubt their ability to do that. Your post is asinine on many levels because in order to win championships you have to be extraordinary and fight normal "human" urges like becoming lazy and not being as crisp and not being dialed in. The Rockets have given into those lapses a few times this season and it goes far beyond "being hot" or "being cold". There's a reason D'antoni called them out. Also the Rockets are winning maybe a little bit more than I expected them too. I told quite a few people before the season started that I thought the Tockets were going to surprise a lot of people if they were relatively healthy. If people paid attention Harden had already shown glimpses of what he could do without a center in the lineup wanting post touches and clogging the lane when Dwight got hurt and Capela played more. Add in Dantoni, Gordon and Anderson to a degree and this wasn't that hard to see. Just because your expectations were low and a lot of other people doesn't mean people who thought they'd be really good should have to view the team on the same plane as you. You and a lot of other people were just incorrect in your assessment.
im not sold on rockets being contenders. they can push the gsw or spurs to 6-7 games but they cant beat them.
They're just out of rhythm and keep blowing leads. Spurs are definitely still scared to play the Rockets.
To b honest no team really want to matchup against rockets cause they so bipolar except maybe Jazz. Why face a team that might blast your ass with threes with some chance they could suck when u can face a weak team like the thunders. Why do u want to play against a streaky rocket? U never know what rocket u might get that's why it so dangerous.
This team isn't bipolar. We are who we are...IN OUR FIRST YEAR UNDER MDA. We're the James gang....with no interior defense/rebounding right now....live by the three and die by the three...need some more perimeter defense too. When we play these teams with size, that excel in the halfcourt...we're gonna have problems....like in the playoffs. That said, I have my fingers crossed ....hoping the Beard & the Boys can work some magic THIS year. NEXT year, LOOK OUT as we have more room/time to maneuver. I don't mind saying I was against this at first ...thought it was all about putting fannies in the seats (ha)...figured we'd win 50 and have a quick exit. Let's give it some time though..We've already exceeded my expectations..Let DM the GM add to the core....and in the meantime, hope for the best/enjoy the ride!
