Williams and Gordon should take turns running the offense when James sits. I think Williams is low budget version of James and will work well against the other teams bench.

This is basically how he's played his whole career. Asking him to be a system guy is like asking Dwight to be a three point specialist.

    Sounds like Steph Curry...

He needs to stay ridiculously aggressive for us to have a chance this year.

He's not that good a 3pt shooter. He's great from the corner, but he doesn't seem very good just standing around catching and shooting. He's still mentally adjusting to how many 3's he's expected to take, when to make cuts, how to balance iso's and movement.

Bev is running the offense because Lou just got here and doesn't know the offense and Bev is great at pushing the pace and moving the ball. Lou dominates the ball more, so he is going to have to get more acclimated before he gets to do that.

What I like is Lou is picking up Harden's tricks getting fouled on 3's. We might have a mini Harden on our hands come playoff time.

My one concern is I hope they fix his habit of falling sideways when taking a 3 (other than corners). This is why he hits a dramatically higher % in the corners, because he falls straight down. At the top, he jumps to the side.

I'm not buying this. We missed several wide open shots. We put the ball in Bev's hands to run the second unit instead of Lou or Gordon who are better playmakers. When SA put Kawhi on Harden, we pretty much stopped running more PnR, which we should have done nonstop to get Kawhi off of Harden...but when we did run it we got results almost every time. I could go on, but this was more about coaching and gameplan adjustments once Pops made his, than about anything other teams will do against us in the playoffs.

That's his game. He is Harden lite and draws tons of fouls this way. Just like Harden, when the refs don't call real fouls, those shots look horrible...unless you are getting 3 FTs. That's the trade off.

He has to change his game up some what because he now knows that we prefer 3s over contested off the dribble mid range shots, which are a part of his game that gets him open for 3s. So I think he is starting to struggle to adjust after getting all the open 3s initially. He just has to learn to either shoot the 3 or go all the way to the hole for a layup or kick out.

Williams in in an awful shooting drought, and the Rockets are dying of thirst.

The officiating sucked it up. The Spurs knew they could get away with a alot of S#@T. If we're a 3 and layup/foul team. You take the calls away you can camp all day on the perimeter and you have the recipe for a win.

Lou has to have the ball in his hands. Gotta go with a bigger lineup to compliment Lou and Gordon. Not throw bev out there with them.

Expect to see the same in the playoffs. It happens every year when all of a sudden the calls James gets all year long disappear. We would have won that game if we had made shots. Our guys are capable of hitting the 3's, but if they are all cold we won't have much of a chance. Believe me, the calls will not go our way come playoffs.

It's gonna be whatever it takes to take it to game 7. NBA don't give crap after that.

Harden for example only averages 0.4 less FTs (as a Rocket) in playoffs vs regular season.
I think it's a myth that refereeing is totally different in the playoffs...

That's hard to believe, but maybe it does seem that when it's a crucial game that seems to happen.

I remember a couple games where James got really frustrated with the lack of calls on the same exact type of fouls he got all season long, and it really threw his game off. The plays where it seems like he just throws his arms up in the air and the ball goes flying, after he hooks his arm under a defender reaching in. I honestly hate when he does that type of play, but remember being furious when all of a sudden he wasn't getting the fouls called during the playoffs. I remember saying that if it's a part of his game, completely legal, and allowed to happen all year then the refs shouldn't change the way they call it in the playoffs. That's when you hear "the refs are going to let them play ball" types of comments from the broadcasters.

'calls he gets all year' is overgeneralization... every year during regular season there are a lot of games where he doesnt get 'calls he usually gets'

Missed a bunch of easy shots in the paint. Keep shooting. Going to fall.
