bill walton frickin sucks! "THROW IT DOWN!" the guy is a joke. he jumps on anybody's bandwagon. one minute he's criticizing a player, but as soon as that player starts doing good he can't stop yappin about him.
I like his commenting, you just have to not take them seriously. He like to exaggerate too much, but often in Houston's favor
He is a great commentator, but he is also the most two-faced commentator we have ever seen...This is the same guy that will prsise Shaq like God and then turn around and say he is losing touch and needs to totally change his game. He's got a good phrase though..."Throw it down big fella, throw it down!"
Keep Kenny is officially an idiot. No ****, Walton isn't serious! That isn't what makes him stupd. It's the constant bandwagon jumping, wish washy comments that he says in a horriblly whiny tone. I don't want to hear stupid sarcastic remarks from someone who sounds like a moron when he wants to be serious. Who wants to hear some dip**** try to be funny while broadcasting a f------ing basketball game? Quit justifying Bill Walton being a good commentator. I'll tell you what, put him in the WNBA. That way you can watch your favorite sport and listen to your favorite jackass announcer simultaneously.
Damn, you need to calm down. It's just Bill ****ing Walton. If you don't like him, don't listen to him.
Wow, such passion. if you haven't read the entire thread, there were several people who believe he is serious when he says those goofy things. Welcome to the board and thanks for your contribution to intelligent discussion.
i completely disagree...i think bill walton is the worst commentator of all time...and don't forget how much he hated the rockets before they got yao.
that period when we had dream, drex, and chuck: the hating was stupid that period when we played stupid ball with francis, cat, and mooch: the hating was valid
All I have to say is that he can funny but he talk TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!! Poor Luke Walton!
Did you ever see him play? Apparently not. If you put him in the league today, he would be the best center in the game, with the only possible exception being Shaq. While he would not be as dominant down low as Shaq, he was the Larry Bird of centers -- the best passing center in the history of the game, especially in the half-court, and one who made everyone around him better. If he'd had anything approaching healthy feet as a pro, he'd have won enough rings with Portland to be mentioned in the upper echelon of centers by everybody. I would love for the Rockets to send Yao back to China in the offseason with a set of tapes containing every game Walton ever played. As an announcer, I like him, but can't put him as the best ever. Closer to the best ever than the worst ever, but not in the top 5. As for the hating on Houston and Hakeem -- my recollection is that he, like a lot of people across the country, finally realized during the 1995 San Antonio series what we Houstonians had known for about three years -- that Hakeem was playing center at that point as well as anybody ever had. It seems to me he said so during that series and has been an Hakeem supporter ever since. I don't recall him waiting until after we beat Portland to jump on the Hakeem bandwagon.
