And the shot that broke the record was much needed to stop ATL's 18-pt comeback -- similar-feeling comeback they pulled on us. Lead was down to 1 point with under 2-minutes left when Korver hit the record-breaker.
20 plus 3 points, good accuracy of 2 points plus grabbing more rebounds with solid defence can become champion.
Eh, Cavs had already hit 25 in the playoffs, so as far as I'm concerned, that was the record already. The Rockets hit 20 in 3 quarters ... their turn is coming ... Oddly enough, the Cavs hit 25 against the Hawks to set the playoff record, too.
"IF" and I say "IF" the Rox played the Cavs in the finals they'd welcome a 3 point contest for 7 games hands down blind folded...I'd take the Rox all day long...I doubt the Cavs would wanna go there for 7 games
26 is tough. Don't think it will happen. Even in the game where we went 0-15 we still would need to have hit 6-15 in the 4th just to get the new record. 26/60 is insanely hot.
If there's a team to do it, it's us. Somehow beating 25 seems impossible, I find it odd the Cavs did it twice with their roster. You look at ours and we should easily be able to do it. We never had the record though, so don't really care about that. I just hope we can ONCE get 20 + threes at a great percentage like the Cavs, not with our usual less than 40%.
Actually, the reason why we didn't get any more 3s in the 4th is because the Clips played up tight on the line. They knew there was not much else to play for and forced Houston to jack 3s off balance or with a man in their face. It wasn't until we started driving to the basket again (due to the overplay) that we stopped their run. If it was a tight game then we would have had a better shot.
With our current offensive system we will regain the record if not this season then definitely next season
