http://www.big3.com I didn't see any threads on the Big 3 League, and since they aren't actually NBA players anymore, I'm not sure if this is even the correct forum. Sorry if it's already being discussed elsewhere. But just thought I would gauge interest. It's an intriguing concept to me. I didn't see if they have a TV partner. Not sure if it will play well on TV if it's just a mini all-star game (i.e. No defense). That would get old quick, but I'd tune in at first out of curiosity. Who knows.. it might actually be entertaining if the players are truly competing and not just glorified Globetrotters. Thoughts?
The players are taking it seriously, at least that's what they keep saying in interviews. I'm intrigued! I think Clyde mentioned he will be a part of it. This would/will be solid viewing in the summer with very little sports on TV.
I feel like 4 on 4 where the 3pt line is a tiny bit farther back would be more interesting than 3 on 3.
The actual games are going to be boring and ugly. All you will see is slow lazy pick and roll layups, jump shots and probably a whole lot of 3's. After the intrigue of seeing some big names this league wont last.
I haven't seen this yet. But as long as they aren't jumping on trampolines and stuff it passes the dude test.
They should def live stream on facebook, youtube or even twitter. I'll probably check it out since there's nothing else during the summer.
I like the idea of this because it's actual athletes playing. And I'm hoping that it won't devolve into ASG shenanigans because these aren't players trying to prevent an injury in an exhibition game that could potentially cost them 10s of millions of dollars. This is all these guys have, so I'd like to see them go after each other. Like a rec center pickup game.. only with much better players. I'm sure that's what the people behind it are thinking, too. Probably wishful thinking.
Bonzi Wells! I hope Shawn Kemp will join. They should have a MOP award for the most overweighted guy.
So, it looks like all the teams, thus far, only have 2 players, so I'm assuming the draft they refer to in the news section will be to fill out the third slot. If so, it's going to be really fun to see how that draft plays out.
Looked up how much tickets cost and its pretty much in line with regular NBA prices. Floor seats were $750 each. LOL
