I'm pretty shocked too. I remember several games where there seemed to be almost no interior defense at all...layup drill for the other team. But I guess overall we played well on that end...the numbers don't lie.
experience, shot blocking, size, illegal screens, injuries, atittude, taking weeks off. hes the missing piece toa championship. better recognize
Rockets are just doing the reverse of the Rox offense. Rox offense = ban mid range shots Rox defense= prevent 3 pt shooters and paint shots Since Rockets intentionally leave the mid range area open, opponents think they found a seam in the defense and take dozens of mid range shots which they clank, resulting in good defense.
The Rockets are also 4th in assist to turnover ratio, and 6th in TOV%. Despite all of James Hardman's turnovers. I guess we need to bring in Ricky the Rube-EO to solve this problem. Also, to the poster who said we're 29th in defensive rebounding-- Yes, that is true however Golden State and the Cavs are also in the bottom 10 in that category. You can't be perfect in everything, I guess. Rockets should have traded for Thong Maker and they would be the best rebounding team on the planet. Said, nobody ever.
Well, I can only speak for myself here but I think it's better to be weird than to pretend that you're not. That's why I love that quote so much, it's the dudes version of reverse psychology. My sig is a non sequitur because you cannot truly determine what is weird or not weird nor can you make a case for it. I also found it funny that a user named @oogie boogie would make this claim. Hence, the sig.
We also had few games in Feb so may be it was indeed the legs. Legs were fresh and Rockets were able to run back on defense. Or maybe Jeffrey Biglydick is working on that bonus check.
