Fantastic point. The harden/dantoni offense is different than the warriors offense. I think we need a pick and roll threat for it to work. I still do think that having bogut on the roster so we can insert him in 5-10 minute stretches when our defense looks like a layup line would be beneficial though
The Warriors have already stated they are not looking for a Center. Instead prefer a wing and scoring.
We aren't looking for a guy to run pick and roll or be a part of an offense. We are looking for a guy to go into the game for a few minutes and beat up the other team's center, hold down the paint and grab some rebounds.
Our offense is extremely pick and roll heavy. It won't matter if we're getting stops, if we can't score on the other end either
Bogut was a pretty decent roller in golden state. Was he not? I just included him in the 5 of 20 guys you listed as a rim protector. I never once said he wasn't a rim protector I just don't think he's a very good overall player. Hassan Whiteside last year avg almost 4blks a game and was a rim protector but he was a poor defender and hurt his team on that end. And you have to admit after his breakout year when he put up 9.5/9.5/2.8 in 25 min which I admit for a 3rd year player is really good and promising. That once he got the money he wasn't that same guy. He's numbers and production fell across the board in every stat from ppg, rpg, blk,fg and ft. I'm not saying if he had been playing ball even overseas that he wouldn't be a better option, maybe, but he hasn't played at all other than I guess training over the last few months. But you can't really think that in 10 min of action in a game next week that sanders would be better than bogut? Maybe next year he would be but not for this season. Plus bogut at least understands what it's like to play in big games and we know he won't crumble under the pressure.
This is exactly my thinking also. I don't want bogut to start or even play over the centers we have know. I want him for the times we need rebounds and stops because it looks like a lay up drill going on.
Cavs and Spurs figure to be ahead for Bogut. Cavs just have easier path in East. Spurs have established culture, Popovich, good history with international players & role playing centers. Rockets do have money edge, need, and Morey's admiration. Though are less a sure thing for postseason advancement, and his past history hasnt been best for Houston. If money wasnt an object and I was Bogut, I'd choose veteran friendly Spurs. But probably Cavs ahead. Rockets could woo me with money, bigger role, valuing my intangibles, and wanting me more than 1 year.
Spurs have no room for him to play and he'd be lost on the bench. Don't see that happening when he can get a ton more playing time with Cavs or Rockets.
No, Bogut barely served as a roller in GS at all. He set screens for shots or stagger screens not drives. Clearly not versed in what is actually going on on the court or numbers...
Who told you we ain't beating warriors? If we got hot in 4 games, they are OUT! Have some faith to your team, dude
Heat just lost their backup center so now we have another team trying to poach potential C prospects...
I couldn't find albert's post. Can someone let me know whether we can offer the full $3.5mm? I believe our $3.5mm is money under the cap and therefore NOT an exception, and therefore is not pro-rated. So we really can offer the full amount over the remaining 25 games which is considerably better than spurs or cavs. The full amount is equal to an $11m/yr salary over the same time period as opposed to the pro rated min. FYI for buyout purposes bogus would much rather appear to go to spurs or cavs so as to have more leverage for his buyout.
