Turned down a team coming off a bad year and with culture questions. Will happily join a contender with a great culture and a bonafide star.
Remember all of us at Spirit of '76, screaming at the jumbo TV during the WCFs? I can't forgive that dirty player, ever. Trade deadlines are the worst. Haven't gotten sh#t done all day.
It all sounds good. But he also complained about the style of play, which hasn't changed. There is a chance, but I don't know how likely it is. We shall see.
He played a very similar style in Golden State, so... Pace for 16-17 Rockets nearly identical to 15-16 Warriors.
If we got Bogut we would be hated for sure. His illegal screens combined with James and his "create a foul from behind the arc" trick would be enough to create lots of boos from our rival fans.
Getting Bogut would toughen this team more. Capella is still getting stronger but needs more seasoning, though he's doing well. Anderson is a finess shooter. Harrell gets winded and needs to improve his NBA game endurance. Our toughest Big is Nene and he's getting up there in age. Rockets need someone to D up and get rebounds. Bogut fits!
No chance we get Bogut. Unfortunately Houston is one of his most hated teams stemming back from the Marc Jackson Warriors days. My bet is that he ends up with the Spurs
When the Warriors traded him they asked him who he would rather play for Dallas or Houston, well the rest is history.
Stein: Bogut will end up in Cleveland. Spurs & Rockets will go after him. Other suitors but Cleveland is...Cleveland's dream wish list was Bogut, Williams & Calderon. I thought Bogut would be traded. I didn't imagine the Cavs dream scenario would unfold. Both will hit the market, Calderon may as well, & Cavs will have their choice of all of them.
Brook Lopez is a buyout candidate. I don't like him defensively but for some reason his dfg% looks good. Makes me not trust that number. However he may be bought out.
