Just curious what's the best way to Ebay and win on a bid? I heard it's better to wait til the last minute or to place the final bid. I just wanted to know if there is some merit to that and what the time limit is before you can no longer bid.
Waiting until the very end of the auction to bid is referred to as "sniping." And it is the best way to bid. I usually wait until there's about 30 seconds left (you have to have a fast Internet connection) then bid with the absolute maximum I'm willing to pay for the item. Nine times out of ten, I'll get it. But, even if I don't, I'm okay with it because it closed higher than I was willing to pay.
yeah I'm just looking to get a t-shirt I haven't been able to find in stores or even online stores. The t-shirt is only at 10.99 so far but it has my favorite band on it. I've never used eBay before so I just wanna get a good idea of how it all works out.
I open four windows. Put in four prices I'd be willing to pay and then hit them one by one during the last 30 seconds. I think it gives you a better chance at a lower pay price. You have a little more contol over the other snipers and the final price.
*Opens a fake wall and starts singing* Do you know the way to use ebay? etc. Stupid commercial, she doesn't even tell him how to use ebay.
Someone else asked about this a couple of months ago, but I can't remember who was the thread starter (I like to think it was Drewdog but that is probably not right). My response was elaborate and detailed, and considering that I have taken a break from eBaying, I would not know how to give the same information. Maybe someone will help me out and find that thread.
