Wow, as Bima Thug pointed out, Ennis trade opens us up to 3.54 million in cap space. Huge advantage in buyout market. Are we the only contender with that much cap space?
Probably, barring any last minute salary dumps by the Spurs or Cavs. But I still think the Cavs have the edge with Bogut.
Cavs and Spurs can't offer anything other than the lowest contract possible. Houston with the Kj aand Ennis deals have over 3.5m they can throw at bogut for the rest of the year. I think he's a rocket by next week tbh. I don't think the rockets make these cap moves without having an idea.
Interesting. That's actually a good point. LeBron specifically wanted them to get another playmaking guard. A big is a need for them too, but not as much once Love returns.
I'd still like us to look at Sanders... with basically the contract that DMo signed - team options every year...
I'm just hoping a CyberBomb gets dropped in here. It's always been a dream of mine to have @cyberx post in one of my threads.
So claiming these guys on waivers.....Would we need cap room for their entire 2016-2017 salaries, or would we just need the pro-rated amount?
The amount they sign for will be for the remainder of the season. So if we give Bogut $3.5m, he gets all of that amount (not pro-rated).
I am not talking about offering them a free agent contract, I am talking about claiming them off waivers, which occurs before they become free agents.
Sorry, I didn't read closely enough... I don't think he's being waived, a buyout is different. Once the buyout occurs, the player is immediately a FA.
