The paperwork is submitted. The mechanics aren't 100% clear I guess, but I figured once paperwork was in you couldn't really meddle with it after that.

With the elimination of expanding the 3 team trade possibility, our trade options are now very limited.

The most you could probably hope for is a 3 for 1 type deal, and bring back a 7-8m dollar player. So no Tyson, Wilson, Danillo, etc.

 

If TOR can't pry Chandler from DEN, I think they'll eventually settle on Sully + '17 1st for Tucker. PHX is waiting it out, but it feels like Tucker is definitely going to be moved, so if things fall thru with TOR, maybe we swoop in and get him for McDaniels, Onuaku, and a 2nd.

 

I question that the expansion is closed. The submitted paperwork are not signed contracts. It's just proof that trade works, what the salaries will be, and league OKs it. But in a phone call.

There has been no league call yet. And it is so odd that they'd submit paperwork this late without it being a continued delay. As we know, trades can close and players can be on the court next day. We've seen that. This is a purposeful delay.

It's still open, imo.

 

fwiw: Brown can't be traded per Bima. Hasn't been long enough since he signed his *second* contract.

 

Maybe it's delayed because Morey has been too busy working the phones?

 

We can probably beat the offer but I don't think the Rockets want to offer what it will take.

You would trade one of the youngest players in the league on a great contract developing fast in the NBDL for 24 games of PJ Tucker?

They can have KJ/Ennis/2nd or fuggem, let them swallow his contract and watch him walk.

Noel to the Mavs?? That's out of the blue. Don't tell me they sent their high first?

 

Afflalo is another player on one of those contracts we don't have the assets to match without giving up someone like Ariza. He's owed 12.5 mil this year and next.

 

The Mavs have played ok since starting off terrible and Barnes has turned into a star. This isn't a move for this year obviously, but the Mavs can look at their roster and see a bright future if they get the right pieces and keep draft picks.
