no JR or Artest bobbleheads, although an Artest one would be nice....... off to ebay seriously tim, are there new bobbleheads on the way??
Hey Guys if you are looking for a Rockets hat with the new logo on it check out eastbay. I just bought the 2003 NBA draft hat only its red with the new logo on it... its not on the website but if you call them or email them and ask them they have it in stock. Also ESPN.com's store has a new rockets hat as well but I think it sucks.
the houston rockets just cant seem to get it right. ever since the red and gold jerseys departed; all houston rockets jerseys been trash. first we have to pj striped pajammas, and now we have the new anime dragon ball z look. these barrage of ugly a$$ jerseys have got to stop!!!!. i wouldnt buy a retro pj striped jersey for one penny let alone 300 dollars.
To be honest, any store that wants to sell the gear can eventually sell it. They just have to work out their deal with the league licensed suppliers -- Reebok for jerseys, Nike for other gear, etc. And if Sears is saying they don't sell the gear because they don't have a deal in place -- quite frankly, I don't know what they're talking about. They wouldn't be purchasing the gear from us; the only merchandise sales we control is what is sold in the team store in the arena. If Sears or any other store wants to sell gear, their deals would be with Reebok, Nike, and all the other league licensees -- it really has nothing to do with us. We'd love it if they sold Rockets gear. As for other questions, the store is located on the north end of the arena, just off Polk Street. That's the same area that we're holding the street party tomorrow, and the street entrance to the store will be open at 4 p.m. Sometime not too long after 5 p.m. they'll start restricting entree to the store so that they can have it cleared by 5:30 p.m., when the arena opens. Many of the items in the store can't be bought anywhere else -- in addition to the basic items you can find elsewhere, we worked with suppliers to develop another a few dozen plus styles of hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. that will be unique to the store. And at least for a little while we'll be the only ones with replica jerseys. We don't have plans to sell any of the premium giveaways in the store yet. The only way to get those will be ... to come to the games. Tim
Tim, Thanks for all the info. Quick question...will the store be accepting credit cards or will I have to hit the ATM in order to load up on my Rockets gear? Thanks again for all your responses.
Ummm...the Rockets store at Toyota Center during the preseason. They had said that they weren't taking credit cards...yet.
I don't know if this has been discussed but the design of the unis looks just like the Toyota logo. I just don't like it. There was so much talk about creative design and then they just copy some crappy logo. It's gameday though, I'll get over it. But Tim, I hope you got a lot of money for it...
here are some numbers to crunch.... since LeBron James jerseys became available ON DRAFT DAY, they have been the #1 selling jersey on the market, selling 400,000. only if a freaking Yao Ming jersey would become available to the general public without having mob ties, those numbers will be shattered. China alone will bring in a million sales, thats just one guys opinion, but come on. HELLO MARKETING?!!! give us our jerseys already, the consumers are waiting!!!!!!
I wish you hadn't said that. I went all the way there just for the store at 4. The lady doing security at the door said they wouldn't open the doors until 5. I had something to do so I couldn't stay until 5. I went all the way up there from Clear Lake for nothing.
Tim I hate to say it but you guys in marketing really blew this whole new logo and uniform unveiling. Y'all tried to be too cute with releasing in on some baseball caps and then getting burned since the Chronicle and guys on this board found out what it was going to be. We still can't get jerseys and the season is already started. That is inexcusable and someone should lose their job over this. Cleveland, Denver, Orlando, and others have new unis this year and you can buy them. As 110th Street said, Cleveland has sold 400,000 LeBron jerseys and they unveiled a new logo like we did. I was really excited about the new logo and getting new Rockets gear. This thing has been so drawn out and frustrating that I don't care anymore, and I am a diehard fan. Good luck with getting the casual fan to by your gear. The Rockets need to clean house with their PR and marketing departments. They are subpar, witness the commercials. How much longer can you guys screw over the fans and get away with it. The Rockets need to learn from the Texans. They have the best PR and marketing guys in the business. Just look at the buzz and excitement they created with their logo and uniform unveiling. That is what you guys should have done. Jaimey Rootes is the best in the business. You guys don't know how to treat fans. No wonder the Rockets have attendance problems.
