    Honestly. . . . i don't think his usage will go down
The rockets have a LET IT FLY mentality and Brew was getting some major minutes
    so . . . .
I expect to see more small ball

That improvement from corner 3s should definitely make us better and harder to defend. Corey was cold from over there.

Brewer's win share is way wrong. Order of magnitude wrong. If it was .5 he would not be the guy with the goat, he would be the GOAT.

A good catch. That's a typo, the calculations were done with the correct number.

WS is based on the team record. Put Lebron on a high school team and they will be 0-82 in NBA. Lebron's win share will be ugly as hell. It doesn't mean his win share will be bad on any other team.

Exactly what the Lakers needed to try and get their 2017 pick back.

Again, you can nitpick about the individual stats, but I'm just exploring available methods for a quick calculation to estimate Lou's contributions. Never meant to be a super deep statistical analysis. I'll leave that to JCDenton.

Yes the napkin calculation is Morey traded one of the worst shooters in the NBA getting minutes for a guy that is a 6th MOTY candidate.

Boxscore +/- is heavily dependent on teammates and lineups. It is NOT a good way to calculate the differences of traded players.

I said a real life visual for comparison, is like replacing Tyler Ennis with Patrick Beverley. That was TOO good, hard to replicate that. But this deal is still replacing one of the worst reserves with one of the best reserves.

Or just the whole "Put ACTUAL Shooters Around Harden" positive effect we've seen this year. AND it allows Harden and Gordon rest. AND it LOWERED the salary figure, AND its a BARGIAN contract not an overpay. Even with the remaining frontcourt and defense issues, its nothing but team GAIN

Anyone else bothered that the title isn't "Replacing Brew with Lou"?

Like it or not, he's also an insurance policy. Let's hope we don't have to file a claim.

Gentlemen love your analytical approach and would appreciate a thread on the above analytics alone.

My apologies. Terrible oversight on my part.

What do you mean? Another thread on just the plus minus stuff? Doesn't seem necessary given the clutter in the GARM.

One thing I know for sure, the title should have been "Back of the Napkin Calculation Replacing Brew with Lou."
