Oh, well, I guess everyone here wishes they were making 500k to sit on a bench.

Too bad he couldn't make $7-8mm sitting on the bench instead. Oh wait...

So do you take back what you said about paying DMO 9M a year and how he would have been the backup big man when Capela got injured?

Let's trade Brewer for both Jones and DMo.

Anthony Davis (36), DeMarcus Cousins (34) & Omer Asik, Alexis Ajinca, TJones, Dante Cunningham, DMo.

26 minutes up for grabs for "bench 5" (and some occational minutes when Cousins gets ejected) :D

When SUPER role player DMo puts Cousins to shame in practice he'll secure the in-game minutes. No doubt in my mind he'll get his 30mpg and huge contract this offseason. Per my sources, Morey hasn't had a single good night of sleep since losing DMo.

All the rust has been knocked off; DMo is ready to go for real now. Watch out, world.

People mock this, but look where the Rockets are at right now, they desperately need improvement in the front court or the post season will be short and ugly. DMo would have provided that depth and instead the Rockets are needing to find it from somewhere before the trade deadline. If they don't get it, the Rockets will have very little chance against teams with good front courts like the Pels (now), Grizzlies, Spurs, or Jazz. I would pick any of those teams over the Rockets in a playoff series as the Rockets are currently built.

To be fair though, the Rockets need a physical big who can secure rebounds and provide a defensive presence. Not sure a 7 footer who averaged 6 rebounds & half a block at his peak before back surgery fits that need.

He's still a decent defender even if he doesn't get blocks and when it comes to rebounds, part of his numbers has to do with where he's playing. You don't get many rebounds when you are hanging out at the 3 point line but when he's played more of an inside game he gets more rebounds.

Either way, I think the point is that the Rockets currently have a need for pretty much exactly what DMo would provide in a bench role and we've yet to see if they'll find a way to get that. I would expect Cousins, AD, and DMo to each absolutely wreck any front court player on the Rockets offensively if they have the ball in the post. That would be a problem in a 7 game series.

Been a long time since all those DMo threads, but recall, DMo can't be traded until after the season.

You might be joking, but just to be sure, MDA was the Rockets coach when we chose not extend him a Qualifying Offer. Of course, maybe Morey asked him, "We can only give one QO, who do you want me to give it to." Yet, MDA thought both would fit.

I'd be OK for a minor trade for TJones for cash just to put Brewer on the bench forever, and give Dekker those SF minutes. But only if nothing else materialzes, and that's the last way to remove Brewer from the game.

The final nail has been hammered into DMO's five hundred thousand dollar coffin.

LOL if you want, but it's true. DMo would dominate any Rockets big man in the post. It's not at all a controversial statement.

Very true, but the Rockets could trade for Asik, ever since the Pels got DMo he's been a DNP-CD damn near every night. I think he's had like 14 minutes total since then. Sure Asik isn't really any good, but he'd bolster the Rockets front court due to the sad state it's in now.

Dmo can't even play better than a Tjones which is completely sad. Him and dominate are no where close to being used together. He probably wouldn't even make the playoff roster if they sneak in

LOL, you sure about that kiddo? I mean, there's a reason why they are trying to dump Jones right now. He's basically their Corey Brewer.

Actually, Asik was getting DNP'd well before they signed DMo. Screw him. That will do nothing to get Brewer out of play.

I'd rather do TJones for cash, if nothing else materializes and it is the only way to get Brewer out of the game forever -- give Dekker all Brewer's minutes and TJones about 20 somewhere.
