Based on the quotes from Cousins' agent, I think he's trying to tell New Orleans that Boogie would NOT sign an extension with them.

 

Hence the low leverage and low market quotes

The situation you're describing is most certainly the same situation we're projected to be in this summer. Last summer, in the eyes of free agents, we were radioactive. No coach, just ran our last major free agent signing out of town, multiple players having their careers nosedive (Josh, Lawson, etc), people questioning if you can win with Harden.....I could go on.

Needless to say, things are different now. We've completely repaired our image. We have the potential league MVP and potential Coach of the Year in a stat-friendly system. A crafty GM. We're winning games and seen as an up-and-comer. We're going to be massively appealing to free agents.

We can do better than Wilson Chandler.

 

They had to settled for Hield after the Lakers told them to **** off lol.

 

I really honestly believe Morey never makes the first call.

They have Gay, McLemore, Casspi, Afflalo, Tolliver, and now they're getting Hield? That's like when the Nuggets had all those wings, and nothing else of substance.

On the other hand, I don't see how Cousins moves the needle for the Pellies. I think the twin towers aspect of basketball, in this day and age, is overrated.

It would work (a la Gasol-Randolph) if you had a defensive minded team, but I don't think the Pellies are that team. I'll contend that a frontcourt of Davis and Cousins is really scary, though.

The Nuggets got more first-round picks for Timofey Mozgov than the Kings got for DeMarcus Cousins.

 

For real? Both these Twin Towers can shot...even the 3 ball. We couldn't defend either of them individually on their teams. How do you think we will defend or rebound against them when both of them are on the court together?

 

Don't worry about it, this season basically set in stone. (16.5 games ahead of pelicans) Next season will be a different story
