(Disclaimer- I dislike Durant and Westbrook immensely despite appreciating their brilliance on the court) Is anyone else tired of this nonsense? Here's J.R.'s post from the Durant to the Warriors thread QUOTE="J.R., post: 10932311, member: 32628"] Will you try to be a mediator between Russ and KD this weekend, ex-Thunder guard James Harden of the Rockets told SportsCenter: "I'm staying out of it. It's not my place. I'm on a totally different team now. I know them both very well. If they need advice, I will give it to them. But I'm staying out of it." On what he makes of the Russ-KD feud, ex-Thunder guard James Harden of the Rockets told SportsCenter: "I don't understand what is going on. I don't understand. Obviously, they feel some type of way. It's part of the game. Part of a guy going to a new team."[/QUOTE] ESPN is going to play up that angle all weekend. They already had an interview with Durant who keeps downplaying the fvcking obvious rift there. It's obvious to everyone that Russell is ticked off for many reasons (KD not giving him a heads up that he was signing with GSW, KD going to the GSW). I would imagine simply apologizing to Russ for not letting him know when he decided to sign with GSW would be a start and a good start at that. It may not erase all the anger Russ seems to be feeling this season but it would be an obvious good start rather than continuing to downplay the obvious rift and continuing to insist he has nothing to apologize for. I'm sure some might disagree on here but what do y'all think. Does KD need to apologize/Should KD apologize in order to end this crap or do you feel there's no apology necessary?
Think we know who's "side" Jim is on after this weekend. Spoiler And Russ & James just gave David Aldridge another interview.
James is definitely a Russ type. He showed disdain for the super teams after he renegotiated his contract.
I hate that Durant signing with the Warriors. But if you had a choice of playing with Westbrook or with Curry, who would you choose? Yeah, thought so.
Curry is overrated dude, nobody ever talks about the talent jerry west and bob myers has surrounded him with his entire career
What does overrating have anything to do with anything. So if you were Durant you would rather play with a bonehead guy who had to be the hero every damn game than a guy who could play both on ball and off ball?
Does not matter if he is over rated or not. He can bail you out when necessary but does not have to dominate the ball, is a very willing passer and attract a ton of defensive attention, that to me is the perfect teammate to play with.
That's because West went 1-9 in his finals appearances. If west went 8-9 or got 11 rings like Russell, people would talk about it, just like they knock Russell (imo unfairly) for the talent he had.
It was actually a choice of either Westbrook or "Curry, Thompson, Green and being coached by Kerr. Oh, and you also have a really damn good bench." In that vein, it's an easy choice.
I know what you are saying. What I mean is that if you wanted to pair up with another superstar player, you'd definitely want Curry over Westbrook.
If you traded all the Warriors for all the Thunder save for Westbrook and Curry, Curry would still be in The Finals and Westbrook would have driven his team into the ground with Durant wanting to leave and Draymond would be just an energy/defense guy off the bench. Curry is one of the top 2 players in the NBA. Westbrook is a ballhog.
