CNN's Jake Tapper isn’t buying Kellyanne Conway’s latest defense of Donald Trump's many lies.

    Tapper on Tuesday called out the White House for accusing the media of
    terror attacks by playing footage of CNN reporters on the scene at those events.

    In response, KellyAnne Conway explained that the president wasn’t saying that every incident is minimized, but that covering major attacks is making the media “inured” to some of the less deadly events.

    “That’s a lovely spin, but that’s not what he was saying, Kellyanne,” Tapper said. “He was saying the media does not cover these stories... it’s offensive given that CNN and other media organizations have reporters in danger right now in war zones covering ISIS.”

    Tapper also pressed Conway on Trump’s
    • constant criticism of the media as “fake news”,
    • lie on the crowd size at the inaugural,
    • lie about the crime rate being the highest in the past 47 years, etc.

    Conway did her best to spin. But Tapper appeared to be too prepared, too calm, and did not let her digress/go off-tangent.

    Why does she continue to get airtime? It's clear she is a joke and only spews BS most of the time, just like Trump. It'd be interesting if the media shut her out collectively.

    The media doesn't have to. All the media has to do is keep calmly shooting down her lies and the lies of her boss. Tapper gave a good example of what I'm talking about. The woman will either have to stop appearing, continue to appear and continue to be portrayed as a liar, or get a hell of a lot more intelligent all of a sudden. She can support her boss without being such an out and out liar.

    Hey stop that, Kelly is offering an olive branch and will tell you about all the happy things Trump is doing to help old people across the street and save kittens stuck in trees. I just wish they would switch back to Katrina Person. At least she was hawt when she lied... eh Donald?!

    MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski said Wednesday that she refuses to book Kellyanne Conway on “Morning Joe”

    “We know for a fact she tries to book herself on this show,” . “I won't do it, 'cuz I don't believe in fake news or information that is not true. And that is — every time I've ever seen her on television, something’s askew, off or incorrect.”​

    Brzezinki's co-host, Joe Scarborough, has characterized Conway as an attention seeker who texts TV producers in a constant effort to get on air, so she can speak for a White House where she actually isn't in the know.

    “She's in none of the key meetings,” Scarborough said. “She goes out and books herself often. …
    I don't even think she's saying something that she knows to be untrue. She's just saying things,
    just to get in front of the TV set and prove her relevance because behind the scenes — behind the scenes, she's not in these meetings.”​

    CNN's Sunday Political Talk Show, SOTU, has said that it had also declined Conway's offer to be interviewed

    You know I had a boss who instead of hiring knowledgeable managers and superintendents to manage work sites, would hire what he called "warm bodies".

    All he felt like he needed was someone just cognisant enough to report the goings on and take the abuse of the inspectors and owners that would inevitably come by while he shielded himself doing God knows what (gambling was one of his vices). I wonder when people will realize that Spicer and Conway and this new fellow are just there to spew off and take the media abuse while Trump knows damn well they haven't a snowballs chance in hell of properly defending themselves.

    The disrespect this administration is showing to the most prestigious elected office in the world is mind numbing.
