The Rockets in the last 15 games have a better defense than the Grizzlies

Are we all just going to ignore this is a thread started by @what and it isn't 80% ridiculous? That's a Clutchfans miracle.

That's a product of the schedule. Tired legs lead to less off-ball movement, and more contested shots. We'll see the offense start to rise again now that the team is getting some much needed rest.

If only we could play that level of defense in late April...a top 10 offense AND defense is a recipe for a Conference Finals appearance.

I'm not torn on playing the Spurs. That would mean we're in the 2nd round. I'll take that given this franchise's history since 1998.

As for the first round, I don't really fear the Grizzlies. They'd be a tough out, but they're aging and can't keep pace with us on offense. The Clippers are the nightmare matchup. They shouldn't be the 6th seed, but with Paul's injury, it's possible they could fall that low and wind up as our first round opponent. I think the Rockets can take them, but it would not be easy and probably goes 7.

To me outside of whoever ends up in 8th the grizz and thunders are clearly the easiest matchups for every team in the top 4.

Utah is tough but I still think we would win because there best players still have never been the the post season. That overwhelms most young 1st timers.

The clippers are the nightmare matchup for any of the current top 3 in a first round matchup.

Talent wise they should be ahead of us so there a tough out assuming health.

I think because of the recent dip in play (largely to do with fatigue) we and myself included have kind of pumped the breaks on this team a little (some more than others)

A month ago we would not have thought anyone in the west could beat us in a seven game series besides the Warriors and most were 60/40 in favor of us against the Spurs.

I think these last 5 games have been really telling. Our defense is back in the top 5 like it was during the 20-2 stretch and the offense is not number one but it's also back in the top 5-6. We've had double figure leads in every game and the only loss came at at the expense of a choke job giving up 20 point lead with 8 min left in the 4th. Reality says the rockets are playing fine and we're doing this with harden. It shooting great and Ariza Bev and Gordon just recently finding there legs and stroke again.

We're playing like the team that went on 10 and 9 game win streak b2b we just haven't played enough to really turn people's fears around.

Win the next 2 games before allstar end up 41-17 winners of 5 straight and 6/7 knowing you gave the hawks that win. I think the team and us and should feel confident about playing anyone in the playoffs.

Per 100 possessions, not what the final score is. So they give up less per 100 than the grizzlies do per 100.

I think this team is officially back.

What we saw in January was a collective breath of exhaustion.

Honestly, it's complain worthy to the commish in regards to how our schedule was put together.

Our schedule was the worst. Does anybody have any data on how much rest we actually got?

That was absurd. I think March will be more favorable, and I really hope Morey pulls the trigger on adding at least a swingman and a legit PG(and cutting ties with Bobby, Ennis, and trading Brewer). Spelling Ariza for an extra 5-10mpg game, Harden an extra 5mpg, and Bev 5-10mpg would do wonders.

People don't realize when Gordon is out, it's not just losing gordon. It means playing brewer more, that's arguably more detrimental than it is the positive of Gordon playing. We need someone solid out there in replace.
