I think the Grizzlies are the third best team come playoff time as well. They won't outperform us in the regular season, they lose to too many bad teams.
But if the league consisted of just the 1st to 7th seed in the West, I'd say Grizzlies are above us and Utah and Clippers

They are one of 3 wc teams to have a winning record against +500 teams.

If you're saying can the get to the WCF.... I think the answer is yes, depending on how they finish the season. Because if they want to avoide the Warriors they need to finish either 2/3 or 6/7. I think if they finish 6/7 it becomes VERY difficult. 2 road series against teams like the Rockets, Clippers, Spurs or Jazz. Hard to see them then winning both those series, especially since the 6/7 finish means they haven't exactly been amazing down the stretch.

If they do play amazing down the stretch, and finish 3rd... then, it's possible. They'd be the better, home team in the 1st round, and in the 2nd round, even if they have to go to SAS, they "could" just grind them down and come out with a 6 or 7 game series win.

Fair. But that doesn't make Memphis better than us

    Memphis > Houston

Those who say otherwise are homers.

Usually, the team with the higher seed wins, the variables of the regular season are now gone. Memphis has to prove it. I remember when the Rockets were the 2nd seed a lot of people thought they wouldn't prove it and they did.

We did lose to the Grizzlies twice now I believe? But they were both close games and one was without Capela IIRC.

Chuck has a valid argument. The Rockets have fallen back and it's upon them to show the world otherwise. Right now it's Warriors, Spurs, everyone 3-7 in the West and the rest of the pack.

Both games the rockets also had 15+ point leads in.

If our strategy is trying to close out big leads and Memphis is trying to come back from big leads. Well the rockets have a much easier path to victory.

It's cool that the griz keep having these big comeback wins against the Warriors rockets and other good teams but if your banking on that being your strategy come playoff time. I don't think your going to win a playoff series let alone 2 rounds worth and into the wcf.

The grizz won't make it out the 1st round guaranteed.

There still 6 game back from houtson that's a lot of games to make up.

The playoffs are about having the best players and MVP level stars.

Griz are a nice roster but not MVP level guys.

I'm not knocking the grizz I like them but they are not a threat if I'm houtson I want to play them or the thunder 1st round over anyone else in the top 7.

    Maybe? Probably?

    Golden State
    San Antonio
    ....................
Can't trust the Clippers, even when healthy.
Everyone is ready to crown the Jazz as the next big thing but I'm not ready to yet. Very few "quality" wins over good teams. Barring a huge comeback, about to lose their 3rd straight. (Getting blown out by LAC tonight)
Thunder one man show can only last so long.
    Houston? Houston?!

Memphis is built to beat the small ball teams because they can pound them inside.
