    Trump can't and won't make these areas profitable. Industry already extracted what they could, moved on, and left behind the people. This started decades ago, and there is no reason to think capitalists will invest in new low skill factories with thousands of jobs when the US worker costs too much and automation is reliable cheap. Without profit, there are no extra jobs.

    Unless these people create their own new cottege industries and corporations, they will never have the jobs they want.

    Sadly, they can't do this because the population lacks both the education and capital. And the people who seek education won't return and capital stays in the cities because the cities are economically productive.
