It's really calming down imo, protests have been far less common in recent months, compared to the height of the crisis.
AfD fortunately has no chance beating Merkel and is hovering at around 12% atm. You never know with these polls, but I don't see them coming close to 20% with the way it's going right now. And even if they were to gain an absurd amount of votes, there's no way any other party would ever collaborate with them, so they'd never gain majority and be able to become part of a ruling government.

AfD has done better in polls last year, but I think reality is sinking in for many voters, as the refugee flood is decreasing a lot and there have been far less issues than what AfD wanted people to believe. At the height of the refugee wave, pretty much every city hosted refugee camps and you'd see masses of them throughout your home town, so I understand why many Germans feared this would become the norm and that refugees would "take over" Germany.

This, and AfD has in general been a complete trainwreck, with their top politicians plotting against each other, embarassing the party in other ways (Höcke is Hitler/Göbbels 2.0 and everyone can see it), them behaving like utter idiots in federal states where they were voted into federal government etc.
Even strong supporters are beginning to see that AfD is a joke of a party and wouldn't be able accomplish anything if given the chance to govern.

I don't think we should shy away from examining why those incidents occurred, and what cultural factors were at play. But I believe its important to do so in a dispassionate manner, and not fall into the trap of being prejudiced/hostile against immigrants/migrants with those backgrounds. We are biologically predisposed to having such prejudices, it seems to me, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't resist it.

I go like that because I'm tired of arguing with you. You're unreasonable. I've had several dialogues with you that were the biggest wastes of my time so I'm just letting the readers decide.

If you think I've backslid on a post just link my posts then tell the reader to decide, as well.

Says the guy that completely misrepresented my views in this very thread.

I don't understand why you think people care lol. It's clear you are a backslider, you continue to claim you are not a racist while saying incredibly racist things. You don't have the integrity or courage just to admit it.

Thanks. Feel like the native/first-hand perspective is extremely important when discussing these things, as there's a ton of misinformation and prejudice going around on both sides.

Ok, still no link to my posts. No matter how much you wail about your accusations, it means diddly squat without evidence.

    Wanting to murder minorities.
    Calling black people savages.
Implying some minorities are bad people.
Constantly parading around white supremacist views.

It's in your post history. Dr. Stormfront.

All I literally have to do is wait a few days before you spout off something inflammatory again.
You can't contain the white supremacist in you.

    Dude, in this very thread...wtf...

    The exchange...
    Your reply...
Talk about backsliding. Anyone with more sense could have still defended their position without that reply.

    Accordingly to the UNHCR

    "
,.......So it is perhaps surprising that while thousands of people are indeed fleeing Yemen to the Horn of Africa (some 87,000 last year), more people still are going the other direction, with more than 117,000 reckoned to have travelled across the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea into this place of insecurity last year alone.

Since 2013, nearly 290,000 refugees and migrants have landed on the Yemeni coast. Nearly 80 per cent of these were Ethiopians, and most of the rest Somalis. Most journey to Yemen in the hope of using it as a transit point, while others look to stay in Yemen, often unaware of the dangers......"

We were referring to the African migrants going to Europe and Europeans, not all brown people. The problem is you ignore the context which makes it difficult for everyone to just get along with the discussion because they have to do it in a politically correct way.

Here it is, the backslide! If you were talking about "Europeans" then why did you mention "White" people instead of "Europeans"?

I have sufficiently explained that already. I'll let the readers give their own judgment.

As a reader of the thread, I have to side with JayGoogle. Dei has been crushed by JayGoogle in this argument. Dei mixes "white" and European in his thinking. Also, Dei puts Pakistanis in this thread for some reason, and lies saying the thread is focused on Africa. Maybe he doesn't know: Pakistan is not in African. Basically, Dei is expressing his fear of "brown people." There is no other organizing principle of his thread. JayGoogle has golden showered Dei's face on this one.

I am only commenting to point out this is such a morbid thread.

I think people who will review the entirety of this thread will find your meltdown in page 2 quite compromising in your ability to give an impartial and objective opinion.

Also, that comment on Pakistanis was regarding migrants as a whole.

How so? The tragedy of migrants drowning and behaving very poorly in host countries in the migration crisis is horrible, but it is in my intentions that we have an open discussion about something the media does not cover with the deserving effort.
