The team is struggling, shots aren't falling, and the defense is deteriorating. Just some perspective, no one including us the Rockets fan, thought we are going to be 3rd place going into the ASB. The Rockets have definitely played over their head and overachieving. The Rockets definitely have some weakness, which is why nobody thought they would have such a great record. Vegas had their over/under record at 41.5, and the Rockets are going to surpass that by a large margin. It's James Harden first year as the point guard and in a new system. They have played the most game in the NBA and just had a brutal schedule, and so there hasn't been much time for practice. We have had injuries and setbacks with some players like Bev, Capela, Nene, and Anderson. We loss Dwight and had to quickly retool and so far they put a big bandaid on our holes but of course, we need to fill the holes of our weaknesses. We still have some flexibility with some moving assets and with the salary cap going up, we can get some more help. Once we get a year with Harden as PG and the new system, they know what we need exactly now and what our targets should be. The team has been fun to watch for the most part besides the last few games where we can see the Rockets are dragging their feet waiting for the all star break. It's coming, and hopefully the Rockets regenerate and get back to playing like how they were playing before this recent skid. All in all, stop complaining and enjoy the ride. We aren't going to win the championship this year anyways, not with GSW, SAS, and CLE. We're still missing some pieces but we can get there. I'm just tired of seeing all the criticism, when the Rockets are outplaying what we thought they would be doing and yet just non stop criticism. However, I know a lot of it are just trolls but for the fans out there who support the team, just know the Rockets are overplaying what we all thought they would and lets just enjoy the season.
Name the trolls. So we can call @tinman to exterminate these roaches who are not real Rockets fans and don't have Clutch City in their hearts.
I actually thought we were gonna be 3rd or 4th seed. I think we can get there (finish the season there) if we get a real Center and another shooter in place of Sewer off the bench.
I'm not a fan of being Ok with losing just because the Rockets are "overachieving". I just don't get this "perspective" movement some fans have adopted and those fans being annoyed by other fans that are disappointed in losing. I/We support the team. I/We want them to WIN. Rocket weren't picked to be 3rd in the west, but they ARE 3rd in the west. Don't squander it! Rockets are where they are supposed be because of HARD WORK not good fortune. maybe a little good fortune Rockets have a VERY SLIM chance of winning the chip, but there is still a chance! You still have to play the damn games. It annoys me when I hear "There's no chance so just be happy". What's the point of them playing? What's the point in watching? Come on guys, we have to stop this loser mentality.
There is a middle ground too, enjoy the ride, appreciate the overachievement but still expect the best. The OP was probably responding to all the negativity toward the team this past month and disparagement of the key people who actually got us to this point - Harden, Gordon, MDA, Morey, whole team actually. But it starts with Harden and D'Antoni.

yes it's fine to want to win but it's another thing to continually trash the team when they are already playing over their heads. Just enjoy the games and hope for the best. of course we aren't playing perfect ball since our team still have some needs and the team was built on the fly
