Wait, wasn't the problem that people didn't address mental health and not gun control at all? So the Republicans remove mental health from the gun control issue?

Guns don't kill people. People don't kill people.

Apparently the latest NRA paid for Republican logic is that you can't discriminate against crazy people. They have the right to shoot up malls just like anyone else. We'll just make sure everyone is armed in the event that someone needs to return fire because that's how Jesus intended it.

Y'all have to understand the congressional Republicans unique point of view here. They're losing ground w/ social issues in this country and they need a potent wedge issue in order to keep their base antagonistic towards Democrats. Any perceived threat to the 2nd amendment is filtered through Right wing media outlets and portrays Republicans as defenders of freedom.

If they cared about mental health than Rick Scott wouldn't have had to be shamed into expanding mental heath services in that nutjob peninsula after vetoing a perfectly comprehensive bill two years before. That's just a microcosm. In other words, it has to get worse before it gets better.

It's all about those sweet heartland votes and crazy people vote too.

...still waiting for Obama to take my guns.
