    This really ain't my type of thing, but I offered to help a friend by trying to find some nightclubs in Houston in the "Downing Street" and/or "Sambuca" flavor. Any Suggestions? I'm clueless. Thanks.

    My wife and I had a great time at Scott Gertner's Sky bar on Montrose @ Westheimer. Cezanne on Montrose near Alabama has good live jazz.

    I concur. My first date with my wife was there. We had an awesome time. Nothing like sitting out on a high rise balcony listening to some good Jazz.

    Highly recommend.

    Scott Gertner's club is nice, but his band plays "jazz" for people who think Kenny G. is "jazz"!:eek:

    i agree...but Scott is a really nice guy. and he does his best to bring in different acts.

    not yet i don't...the bars i know downtown are really closer to the theater district than they are TC. but i bet there will be a place to grab drinks inside the new hotel next door.
