D'Antoni is a genius. He turns Harden into a playmaker, and he becomes an even better scorer by freeing him up.

Not only that, but the most important thing- other big men on other teams see Harden as a playmaker, and they realize he can pump up their scoring stats. So, in free agency, Houston becomes an enticing option.

So, not only does D'Antoni transform Harden, he makes Houston an even more attractive destination for a big man who actually cares.

    Genius.

Too bad Morey kicked too many cans down the road and got us Harden.

He actually passed up chasing it multiple times when I thought he was for sure going for it. Definitely wanted those free throws though.

I just want to get in here to share in the greatness we are all witnessing.

So much season and career left to do more of this. Wth is next for Harden?

it annoys me that he doesn't play well against good teams. They always shut him down.

We still got about 30 games to go, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did it again by the end of the season.

well its hard to be the only scorer on a team of shooters. lebron needed 2 other all stars. good teams can shut down 1 guy. 1 guy rarely ever won a championship himself. james will need a second go to guy to win in those games that you're talking about. its not his fault. its just the team isn't that good yet.

having a second star on the team would also free up james to score more in those games, since the defense can't focus solely on him. the game will become easier once he has 1 second star... or at least 2 other borderline guys like gordon. i think that's what they were hoping to get in ryno...

Feel bad for those who don't/can't appreciate the greatness we get every night. Truly feel bad.

They must have had a serious talk during the pregame warm ups before the game tonight. It's the only possible explanation.

There's been 3 this season, I think. Before that, from what I recall looking up, there had been 6 others (they didn't keep track of some stats back in the 60's). Since 1975, I think there have only been 3... all this season by Harden (2) and Westbrook (1). Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Umm iv seen harden have triple doubles against the Spurs 2x and Warriors and they won 2/3 of those games I also saw him hang 45 and 15 on the Cavs.

That all happened this season and its not even over. He also had a 40 point triple double against Toronto.

So he's actually performed quite well against the 4 best teams in the league besides his own team.

It's harder to perform against better competition but he's done pretty damn good and the team has a winning record in those 5 games 3-2.

Remember back in 2015 when we would get excited when Harden would *just* score 50 on occasion?

    Ahhh...youth...

Amazing Harden!!! 2x MVP Steve Nash has 30+ in points and 12+ assists in 9 career games, Harden has done it 9 games this season. Then another amazing stat, Harden has 40+ point triple-doubles 5x, Westbrook 3x and the rest of the NBA 0. Credit to someone in Canada. Eyewitness history!!!

O'Bannon brothers will burn down NBA headquarters in New York if Harden gets robbed from his well-deserved MVP award.

    Russ' deserves an asterisk

17-44 from the field, played 45 out of 48 min?

That's some Kobe retirement game type statting.
