"The Rockets (34-15) are in the midst of a rough stretch, losing six of nine games. Despite that, they possess the league's third-best record behind Western Conference foes the Golden State Warriors (39-7) and San Antonio Spurs (36-9). The Cleveland Cavaliers (30-14), who lead the Eastern Conference, have the league's fourth-best mark." Rockets have played 49 Games, Warriors 46, Spurs 45, Cavs 44. is it unusual at this point of the season for a team to have played 5 more games than another team? perhaps the rockets are relatively more tired than some of the other top teams.
If you are going to get Noel, you need to get rid of Capela or Harrell, as of now, the 76ers need neither. Noel is a stick, he will also struggle against the bigs in the low post, offensively, he may have potential, but right now he will needs months to build up the connection that Harrell had with Harden. Unless Capela will have any major long term injury or this team keep playing like crap, it ain't going to happen.
I'd take Noel at a good price. I'd not trade a ton of valuable assets for him. Injury history HAS to be factored in, plus the fact that he plays similarly to Capela, only Capela has better stats across the board and is cheaper.
Granted, the defensive sieve that is the Portland Trailblazers isn't working, but Plumlee has played very well for them. He starts every game. He's currently cheap. Why do they trade him? Because he is a FA and they don't think they can/should resign him given the money they tossed around this past offseason? I'm sure they'd much rather move Meyers Leonard (though who would want him...talk about a bad signing). Maybe they feel like Ezeli will come back healthy and be a better option to start, given a more defensive mentality?
I'd love to have him and Noel. I haven't watched Noel a ton but he is an extremely versatile defender from what I've seen. Trading for Noel is a risk because we might lose him in the offseason. Harden would also make Noel look a ton better on offense like he does with Capela. Hope Philly is just looking to salvage some value for him and trades him to us.
I think a healthy Noel is a clear upgrade to Harrell. Longer, significantly better defense, better rebounder. I think we have to look at the Harden effect on Harrell's numbers too. Harden makes him look significantly better on offense. If a Noel trade were to happen then I think becomes the back up PF/C and gets around 20 mpg. Then Nene gets pushed towards the end of the bench. No idea if we can actually retain Noel or if he would even be happy at 20 mpg though.
RFA to be. Go ahead, pay him that max deal he wants. Lock your roster in. Ryan Anderson! Trevor Ariza! Nerlens Noel! Pat Beverley! Corey Brewer! Eric Gordon!
Okafor has another year left on his contract. Noel is gone after this season. 76er may like Noel more, but losing him for nothing is not good business.
Yes, he is a RFA soon , so the contract talk come before the trade. If we can move brewer and ariza next year expiring contracts we can add another max And we are lock with harden gordon bev,anderson() another max player and a good C like Noel. Ideal we have to keep Dekker.
You know it BigMaloe! Noel LOVES D'Antoni and Rockets pace and space system. His familiarity with system, love of the coach, 1,000% effort on D coupled with his crazy length and elite athleticism make him our perfect rolling to rim 5. If he can improve his shot and BB IQ like Akeem did, superstar.
Nerlens Noel on Mike D'Antoni: "Man, I loved him" It would gladly accept Noel to our Roster!!! Spoiler: No joke! This is the first thing that I thought of...... It would be nice to have that kind of love back in the locker room... ....... ....... .......
